He really can't seem to get it right, can he?

Last time it was spend, spend, spend. They get relegated.

This time it's spend nothing. They look like they'll get relegated.

Instead of spending, they did bring in close to 11 players on loan. Integrating the new players and trying to reverse the poor run of results was always going to be tough. I still think Parker will be the first manager to get fired, unfortunately.

The question that occurs is if they had the money to spend a few seasons ago, what's stopped them this time (the particulars of the Covid situation notwithstanding).

They just needed to find a middle-ground. Neither spend, spend, spend, but not scrape the barrel with loans and bargain-basement players (not casting aspersions on their talent, just their market value).

It's only because Scotty Parker is the manager that I concern myself slightly with it. Otherwise, I wouldn't really care much beyond thinking how screwed they are.

I think under the right manager that Fulham side would have a fighting change of survival. Lookman looks very bright, RLC is a good player, Mitro can be an absolute handful and there's some potential in other areas (though the defence is obviously wobbly AF). On paper they're not really any worse than Burnley or Sheffield United and are probably better than West Brom.

They just need a manager who can organise the defence and come up with a system that suits the players, and Parker just seems to be grasping around in the dark and praying something clicks. It's unfortunate that they came up as Brentford would've been far better for the league and now Parker's bound to get sacked, but I think they need to move him on before it's too late.

Do you think maybe he took the step into management a bit early, Timbs?

Ajax win 13-0 and I had them in my accumulator - problem is I had both teams to score too...

Hard to say, but as others have already stated Fulham getting promoted has probably done him (and perhaps even the club) more harm than good as neither were ready for it. He must have something about him to get them up, but he's got an almost impossible job on his hands now which would be difficult for most managers, let alone one as inexperienced as him.

Brentford were statistically the 2nd best team in the league last year, played great stuff and had a defined system, while Fulham were always a bit of a mish-mash and kinda bumbled their way to promotion. Bit of a shame for everyone really.

Who do we want to win? Im confused
If someone has to win, I would prefer United. Both teams have a glass ceiling imposed by their managers' limitations, but I think Chelsea have the stronger squad and are a greater threat this season.

Yeah I have to say, United have been pissing me off recently more than Chelsea have been. A penalty every game largely contributing to that.

There’s positives to every outcome tbh. United have had two decent results in their last two games, so a Chelsea win would be decent to put them back in their box. Conversely, seeing Chelsea’s defence fuck up again would be great too.
