Still think it's too early to judge, but would be hilarious if he's a dud. Given the state of their squad they really need to get big signings like that right.

Said it in the summer and will continue to repeat it.

Arsenal fans are being tricked by the window they had and are too blind to see it. The owners played it brilliantly.

They spent the first half of the summer being linked to any half decent player, who they realistically could not afford to give the impression that they were being ambitious. In reality they were not prepared to go all out, so they had to compromise with loans, buying players cheap or buying young players either within their spending limits or on the selling clubs terms.

When they signed Luiz, it was "We know what he's like but he's a winner and a proven prem defender". When in reality it should have been "Are we really replacing Mustafi with another clown?"

When they signed Pepe it was "Wow, we've signed a player who is going to rip up this league!". Again, reality it should have been "He's exciting but very raw, it could be a gamble.". But Arsenal fans do what Arsenal fans do and go balistic over a yt video.

After one game from Ceballos it was "He's the best thing and we're gonna be unstoppable". A week later and Ceballos was hardly noticeable at Anfield.

I'm not all these players won't work out but I wouldn't have been so cocksure about the summer they had.

Cast your mind back to the Europa Cup final, their fans were demanding they get rid of all of them bar Lacazette and Auba. Two months later everything's rosy cause they brought in potential, a loanee, an injured left back and a 32 year old error probe cb. Yet Xhaka is still their midfield enforcer, Maitland Niles is still expected to play RB, Sokratis is still a lumbering oaf, Leno is still average, Ozil still goes missing and they still have Mustafi (plus Luiz).

They've had the wool pulled over their eyes once again.

I disagreed when it was suggested they had a better window then us. We brought in two massive talents, proven in big competitions and Europe plus a highly talented English player who has a very high ceiling and is prem ready.

They are very much social media FC

That was hilarious, they could hardly find the first man in the second half!
If Watford had someone who could put the ball in the net they’d have had at least five!
I watched it with my next door goon neighbour after a bbq and I’ve never seen him so miserable, without Pea and Lacazette they are bottom half of the table!

Literally only yesterday had an Arsenal fan tell me we won't finish top 4 because we're flaky.

Yep a couple of really clinical top class strikers of the highest order to be fair but around that its just a whole bunch of average.

To be fair, with Bellerin, Holding and Tierney back, their defence will improve significantly.

It will but the baseline right now is so low, they can't defend as a unit and making a load of basic errors which tells me that they're not getting coached properly or they're not understanding what they need to do when they defend.

Alan Smith said that he's heard rumblings of discontent with the players saying that they've no idea what they're doing on the pitch and when you sign a player like David Luiz to shore up your defence then you've got problems.

Even if they sort the defence, if you play Xhaka as your CDM and Captain, you are going to suffer A LOT.

Lets not forget Tierney isn’t proven in the prem either so might take time to settle and pretty sure Bellerin was being blasted by Arsenal fans before he got injured as he was very inconsistent. Having pace isnt enough anymore to be a good full back.

Fucking weird purchase when you see their glaring weaknesses in defence...it wasn’t like they were struggling to create and score goals last season.

Arsenal defence getting absolutely slaughtered on MOTD, can't wait to hear what Neville and Carragher say on MNF

At 26, you'd think Xhaka would have accidentally learned how to tackle by now.

Then again, I feel the same way about Sissoko and shooting.

Bellerin looked very promising when he first broke through but he changed agents and they drilled it into him that he needed to be more popular and marketable so that Barca would come in.

His performances dipped and he didn't develop. Then he got injured.

As you rightly pointed out, he was getting pelters for months before the injury, it wasn't just the odd bad game, it was poor defensive performance after another. He won't fix anything when he returns.

As @Shadydan accurately states, it's the defensive set up, coaching and mentality. It's a mess.

The Europa League final highlighted the issues perfectly, as soon as there is disruption their entire defence folds like a pack of cards cause they are confused, have a poor set up plus defenders who are prone to stupid mistakes

Pepe was a shiny new toy to distract the fans who were on the verge of boycotting. I’m not saying he’s crap or anything, but they didn’t need him. What they needed was a couple of reliable defenders, not even anything flashy, just a couple of boring, solid centre backs as stable base to build on.

Instead they bought Sideshow Bob.

Exactly. A defence that bad needs a proper destroyer in front of them. Not that we’d of sold him to them but they should have gone for someone like wanyama.

It reminds me of our defence before Redknapp bought in Palacios. If they get that player right (they won’t) then it will make a world of difference.

Arsenal are a social media club. Next week David Luiz will do a Cruyff turn in his own box and play a 60 yard Hollywood ball, the video will circulate twitter and Arsenal fans will be raving about him again.

They will pick up some good results this season and might sneak in to the top 4, but nobody can deny what an utter joke that club have become. I would say I feel sorry for the fans, but after years of abuse from them between 1995 and 2010, I couldn't be happier about it.

Mina doesn't speak good enough English yet, that's definitely an issue.

There was a report recently that Silva demanded that Mina and Richarlison improve their English.

Moise Kean has only been there for a few weeks and already has a better understanding of the language.

You don't exactly need a degree in classic literature to shout 'man on', 'time' etc.
