BBC moments ago:
Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason has undergone surgery after fracturing his skull during Sunday's game at Chelsea.

This is bad, guys....
Why are people still arguing saying that it wasn't a pen?
Overall though, there are far too many poor decisions being made. Refs aren't up to it and players don't help. Not just diving, but offside non-calls, fouls not given, bookings given out cheaply for one and not at all for others. If there is one weekend we cannot talk up luck about our rival teams it is this one! We although battling got so lucky its insane, we used almost all out 9 lives up in one game.
It was a pen, whether it hits his face or not it is a very high boot and wreckless. Gutting but a pen none the less
Edit"I am agreeing with you by the way ha"
Think you'll find Merson isnt the only xenophobe in the English mediaA couple of weeks ago Hull would have got done by four or five at Chelsea. The new manager has clearly had a very good impact on the club, showing up Merson's vitriolic outburst of xenophobic hot air for what it was at the moment.

They're better off without him. How Chelsea conned Sunderland into paying £8m for him I'll never understand.Sunderland should be without Papy Djilobodji for our game providing his retrospective red card isn't overturned. Their defence isn't particularly solid at the best of times so I don't know whether this helps or hinders them!

Good. Throw the book at him. Give him a lengthy touchline ban and dont allow any contact between him and his staff and the team before or during the game once in the stadium.Wenger charged

Are you sure Redknapp hasn't taken over Sunderland?
Jagielka and Osman rumoured to be next
