Hey everyone... When do pre season friendlies start. Norwich can't be the first one can it? I haven't seen any lists of friendlies yet.

our friendlies are a bit lame this year but that's cos JR, GP and MA are taking the team on an extended training camp in Spain rather than playing those extra friendlies

"info from saforguia.com:

‘Legendary English club Tottenham Hotspur will arrive this afternoon (yesterday) in the Oliva Nova complex where they will prepare their pre-season.

The English club, managed by Juande Ramos, will be there until July 25.

According to saforguia.com, Spurs could play against UD Tavernes, although we await confirmation. The planned date is July 14’

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but the press in Alicante are reporting that we will be playing a friendly against the area's Segunda Liga side Hercules CF, on July 24.

http://www.diarioinformacion.com/secciones...ortes-Tottenham

A rough translation: Tottenham Hotspur, managed by Juande Ramos, will play a friendly against Hércules on the 24th of this month at the Rico Pérez stadium.

The game will get underway at 21.30 following an agreement between representatives of the Alicante club and Mediapro, the TV rights group.

Tickets will cost between 15 and 30 euros. Hércules will be waring its new away shirt (interesting!) to differentiate from Tottenham, whos will be playing their first pre-season friendly."

Cheers for posting that info chrissivad, I didn't know we had a few lo-key friendlies lined up but I did find it a little odd that our first pre-season game wouldn't be until July 28th.

we have a friendly away to Aldershot Town on 29th July KO 19:45... they just got promoted last season to League Two!

Aldershot are my local club so it will be a fun game to go to!

the Roma game is selling well - the West stand is well on its way to being sold out

If the Aldershot game is one day after the Nowich game I imagine most of the first '18' won't play too much in that

Did I read that the Norwich game will be on Setanta, or am I making that up? If so, that's pretty coolio. At least 3 of our PSF's will be televised.

According to the official site we start with playing Norwich City (July, 28) and then Leyton Orient (July, 30), both away. Those two games will be easy and will mainly give the team match fitness and a feel for the 90-minute game after the summer break. Then there is the Rotterdam Tournament where the opponents are Celtic (August, 1) and Borussia Dortmund (August, 3). And we end the pre-season by playing Roma (August, 10) at home.

Pretty good program in my opinion. 3 really strong teams that will prepare us well for the season, as opposed to last year's Pirates and Chiefs and whatnot.

I wonder when Modric will join the team. Hopefully we see him play a role on the 28th against Norwich because i've got Setanta and i'd like to see his first appearance.

Funny that Man Utd are doing that Vodacom tounament this year. Of course, we're the 1st team to bring the trophey out of Africa though.

I disagree. I think our pre-season games against Dortmund, Celtic and Roma are great preperation. Probably our best pre-season fixture list yet.

was nice for us success starved fans, but in reality, the Feyenoord thing will be much better for us, even if we lose every game. Actually, especially if we lose every game.
