Half time assessment before whole team changes: Bissouma and Maddison look good, Solomon promising, Reguilon and Tanganga poor, rest rusty.

It’s heart warming to see us attack not just sit back and defend.

But we desperately need 2 new centre backs and a better left back.

Has vicario been as bad as Twitter making out? And has it been bad in general?
Na, he could have done better in possession, his kick out gave them the corner for the second. Otherwise been fine on that ball and made some good saved.
Defence needs work (and some new players). But it's the first pre-season game in a new system, the defence is an area that Ange will really need time to get drilled down.

Otherwise in attack we have been so much fun to watch. Great link up play, possession in West Hams box and if the team had their shooting boots on, it would be 3-2

Actually enjoyed what i saw! Could have easily been 4/5 up. Two set pieces and we were done, not a surprised with our defence

Going forward we are much quicker and get bodies forward. We play in a very high line and i don't think it suits any of our defenders so if i'm Ange i'm asking for 2 Cbs minimum. I think the system struggles otherwise.

Impressed with Solomon.

Not a terrible half. Only goals concede we’re on corners.

I’m not sure we learned much. We desperately need a strong LCB.

I have thought we needed LB, that has not changed for me.

Skipp probably not well suited for the 8 role.

Overall I can see the new style of play taking hold. Still a few runs into same spaces and too long on the ball at times. But there are building blocks to work with

I'm actually enjoying watching spurs lose 2 - 0 to west ham more than I enjoyed watching most of last seasons football.
Was about to say, I'm watching this with a smile on my face, gives me butterflies in my stomach to think about the new season. I don't even care about the defense right now, I'm sure we'll upgrade and start to fix it.

And the players look like they've been set free, seem to be absolutely loving it. That one two run from Bissouma into the box, oh my..

And that was all Skilp’s fault?

Not due to our poor defence or say playing alongside PEH all the time?

Don’t wanna go too much into it, but I think the Skipp bashing is getting a little silly, he needs to be given this season in a decent side before making judgements.
No one said it was all Skipp's fault and I'm not really bashing him, just think he reached about his level with Norwich, we should be aiming higher for a absolutely crucial position in our starting 11.

I'd definitely prefer PEH as first backup for the box to box role but I think we could upgrade on him as well.

You can see why Ange likes Conor Gallagher, with all the runs the CM's make into the box.

Going forward we look great, imagine swapping out Ndombele for skipp it'd be beautiful to watch.

I like Soloman, Maddison looks very good.

The defence though, going forward Porro and Reguillon have been good, but our defence looks incredibly wobbly and so much space. Imagine someone like Nunez or Rashford running at that defence.

Attacking stuff of dreams, defending stuff of nightmares.

Still very enjoyable all the same.

Only concern for me is Manor Solomon could play really well and I reckon Son would still walk straight back in.

Don’t get me wrong Son is an excellent player (hopefully last year was a blip) and you can’t say Solomon is the messiah after a good pre-season showing, but I hope players are picked on merit this season and not a case of the same selection of players playing no matter what their form is.
I think you will see more rotating and early subs than we are used to... Ange's high energy game requires that. So don't worry.
