Doumbia went for just £11m.
Seriously missed the boat there. He would have solved so many issues it's not even funny. His market value will now be £20m+ with the new contract.
It's same old same old for Levy. He managed to find a way to save money. Next window he will find a way to make money. Been like it for years. Never buys to strengthen when we are looking to push on.
Even CL footy doesn't make him spend, nothing will.
I hope he backs Poch in the Summer. He hasn't done yet. The boss has done a very very good job with an extremely average squad.
100% agree.Totally fine with it.
For the first time in a very long time I feel like we're heading somewhere fantastic with the set-up we now have.
Happy to wait for the summer, as mentally prepared myself for this season being one of exploration...and for it being one of exploration it's still going pretty damn well overall tbf and we haven't really played that well for the most part with all the steps forward and back we've, inevitably, taken.
It's always been about next season for me though. This summer will be busy and exciting and will define our intention for the coming years with youth, hunger and drive being central to our make-up.
The future is brighter than ever imo.
Gonna enjoy the rest of the season knowing we're in safe hands.
Fifa 15 based opinion. He is average in real life.Doumbia went for just £11m.

I don't think anyone is wowed by a superlative Russian league record, but what did pique a lot of people's interest was the two games Doumbia had against Man City in the CL. He gave them a pounding. Also Roma were in the group, so they must have liked what they saw too.And after the roaring success of Pavlyuchenko, Arshavin and Pogrebnyak, perhaps EPL teams are waking up to the fact that tearing it up in the Russian league is no guarantee whatsoever that a player will do the same here. Pogrebnyak really looked as if he'd cut it, but looks seem to have been deceptive. Is anyone regretting that we had to 'settle' for Eriksen rather than Willian?
It's ridiculous to suggest that Pochettino, Mitchell, Baldini, etc. would have been unaware of Doumbia and his availability and price (although as an EPL club we'd probably have had to pay closer to £20m than £11m). If we didn't go for him, there's a good reason.
