Mauricio Pochettino has told BT Sport’s Between The Lines that he feels Tottenham Hotspur will always be “my club, my place”. The Paris Saint-Germain manager left Spurs towards the end of 2019 – after five years.

say what you will about our recent history, but the club does seem to stick with alot of ex players and managers who had no affiliation with the club before joining

I'm so confused about Poch. As much as I loved him, his style of football and what he achieved with us, his shortcomings as a manager have really been shown up during his last couple of years with us and his whole tenure at PSG. You can blame a lack of signings, big egos, wrong club etc for that but ultimately he has to accept his failure to adapt/find a suitable system to work with what he has for that. It's really hard to work out what he's trying to do when you watch PSG. He has enough big names to bail him out most of the time, but recently they haven't and it's been frequently awful. After Conte he'd probably be the best manager we could get but for me it wouldn't be the romantic return others feel it would be. I'd have a fair bit of trepidation.

I know exactly what you mean. It's a romantic idea having him back but I hope that we don't go there. I'd rather have the memories without them being tarnished.

What you have to remember about when Poch was with us is he had, by complete luck, arguably the best striker in Europe come through with him. Also we spent 5m on a prospect in Dele who was just amazing. That helped a lot. We did buy well with Lloris, the whole back 4 was amazing and obviously Eriksen with the Bale money but we did have a lot of luck along the way.
Be interesting to see what direction we go in now with the stadium up and running and Conte at the helm.
Time to put up or shut up.
I don't want to see Poch back. He had his time and it was great. Move on.

People talk about Poch’s shortcomings before we’ve even got close to performances like the ones under him.

I’m not blind to his flaws but people seem to have lost a bit of perspective.

He was great. A superb period of time that's best left as a great memory.

For a club that didn’t win anything you’ve put a lot down to luck. We overachieved. Just not enough. But Poch deserves credit for moulding those players into a team.

I love Poch... and he is more than welcome back at some point. But right now it's all about Conte for me. 100% backing for Conte and let's see what he can do.

In an ideal world full of hindsight, Poch was perfect to get us where he did. At our peak with him is when someone like Conte would have been perfect to take over and take us to the next level.

He was the perfect man for us, he needs young players willing to learn. I think psg and United are not those clubs.

No mate.

It's SC that needs to do that, but they won't. They'll continue to pine for him & bring his name up at the slightest opportunity.

Loved Poch but in all honesty, if he did end up at Utd, I wouldn't be particularly bothered. I think he lost his way a bit with us and hasn't really found a way back.

It's funny because, when we lose, SC is full of posts slamming Conte. Saying he should shut up & it's his job to get results from the squad at his disposal.

But Pochettino manages arguably the most talented group of players on the planet & when he loses, SC is full of "it's too many egos to play Pochs high intensity football".

Funny how it's not his job to alter his ways to get the best out of the squad at his disposal.

Love him but you should never go backwards.

Dembele really drove that team. We need to wake up and see that it’s the players, not the Managers, which are the problem.
