Personally not keen on so many changes.

All the players you mentioned would improve us no doubt, but not all in one go.

So many changes in my opinion could disrupt the squad and take half a season or more to settle.
That's fair enough and I agree it could. But equally, we need re-enforcements now and this season we saw how badly we missed having quality on the bench.

We tend to direct our ire solely on Levy (wrongly imho) as the man who holds the keys to the blueprint. It is Joe Lewis the 70% owner of ENIC (that we never hear a word from) who is the main man here. I remember a comment from Pochettino when interviewed after we beat Palace at the opening of the new stadium. He was told by the reporter that JL was present. His answer was interesting and is quoted below:

"He’s here? I don’t know. I saw Daniel before the game. Nobody said to me he’s here."

For all we know Levy may share MP's ambition and be keen to push us forward in a strong way but as a 30% owner, his hands are very much tied.

By putting these messages out in such a strong way, he is achieving several things:

- signalling to the players that want to leave (and he wants to keep) that he also shares their ambition and is willing to put his neck on the block to drive the club in that direction hence buying us a bit of time before they make decisions about their futures.
- same goes for players we are trying to buy who may be interested in joining us but are also subject to strong interest from bigger clubs. They may question the vision of the club and require concrete details on what objectives we want to achieve before making a decision.
- strengthening Levy's hand in future negotiations aboard the Aviva with Lewis about the blueprint
- last but not least, giving us the fans a bit more transparency on the direction of our club and what is real versus perceived in that sense.

God, I love this man.

Spot on. And to be honest, poch has all the leverage. We need poch more than poch needs us

Poch has said a new 5 year plan is required to take us to the next level. This is not simply about spending more money.

There has been talk in the past of Poch wanting more input in transfers. Essentilly the board and the manager need to be on the same page.

My main concern of recent seasons has been less young players being bought. We have done well buying players young, developing them and integrating them into the team. But we have done this less recently.

As we are not playing the recent academy players then we need to be buying top young talent.

I agree that MP probably has spoken with Levy about the next 5 years. But I don't think MP agrees with it and wants Levy to be open with us so we can understand why MP is unhappy to the point of leaving.

There does seem to be a disagreement between them on recruitment and the last 2 empty windows perhaps was the result of a stalemate. There never used to be a problem in the early days as for different reasons they both wanted very young players with a good work ethic. And MP did his magic and they were soon putting the ball between the legs of players twice their age, and their value rocketed. What has changed?

By our more recent buys, MP doesn't want kids any more. He even complained that Sanchez was so so yeong. Yes, he helped turn Kane and Alli into superstars - Dier and Rose too into internationals, but now he has also got established world international players like Son, Moura, and Sissoko playing at a much better level. And it is those 3 that have got us into the CL final perhaps more than anyone else.

And this is a question for the fans too. We all loved the young players - many 'one of our owns' - blitzing teams and pressing them to death. It was exciting. The team and how they played were distinctive. We connected with them.

Now they mostly are not our own - but good quality internationals that could be playing anywhere in europe and mostly have. They could take us to the next level.

To borrow a phrase there could be a fundamental disagreement about what it means to be Tottenham going on here.

Hopefully a good 5 year plan, not a Soviet nightmare of doctored figures and crushing the bourgeois, er, proletariat... er... Spurs fans.

Sorry, had a flashback to 1997...
