It’s the final week of August and for Tottenham Hotspur, that can only mean one thing — fasten your seat belts for this summer’s last-gasp trolley dash around the transfer market.

Poch was hired to get the best out of youngsters. As many have said before me we will not see the best out of this team immediately, and we should accept inconsistency is going to come with it. Stick with the team, get behind them and we are all there from the ground up, it is sweeter that what COYS

Actually Poch was hired in Levy's words to do as follows-

"In Mauricio I believe we have a Head Coach who, with his high energy, attacking football, will embrace the style of play we associate with our club.
"He has a proven ability to develop each player as an individual, whilst building great team spirit and a winning mentality. We have a talented squad that Mauricio is excited to be coaching next season."

It doesn't say anything about getting the best out of youngsters or expecting inconsistency, what it does say is we should expect high energy attacking football, I'm still waiting for it

My concern is that Poch clearly says "the player"...... not players. Assuming this is Berahino, it means those of us hoping for a bit of experience coming in will be disappointed. It's great having a team of (mostly) home-grown kids, but where is our Naybet, Davids, Parker, VDV??

Exactly. Hopefully Poch will get enough time. But with Levy's pissing around in the transfer market, I just think Poch is caught between a rock and a hard place. This team desperately needs some experience injected into it.

I don't recall the Poch's Saints side looking so slow or ponderous. I don't ever remember them looking as devoid of ideas as we have done. Currently we're still operating with the same attack that came in as part of 'The Magnificent Seven' with the exception of Kane, which is what the problem is. Chadli, Dembele, or Lamela possess very little by way of direct pace or acceleration.

Gary Neville remarked that David Silva is thriving because he's now surrounded by willing, pacey runners out on the the flanks. We don't have that, so I'm hoping that with the hopeful addition of Berahino, along with Njie that they will be the regular starters with Eriksen pulling the strings.

which suggests that as the squad gets closer to a Poch squad things will improve. If Ber and Clint provide pace along with the young core that is a good start - just need that CM (and for Jan to bloody well get some good form back!)

WBA turndown Barahino's Tranfer request -- SSN

Still cannot see why Pulis would bring in a third striker if he wants to play one up top. I think the deal is as good as done. I think Pearce is just fronting up for the fans.
