Thanks - good read, but have to say I'm not sure I completely follow what Pochettino meant. That they have been involved for 2 years but aren't good enough so they have to prove themselves?
Or that they are good enough but there's too much competition and so he's loaned rather than sold (lost) them?
Or that they aren't good enough (yet), but rather than lose them to another team he's loaning for them to prove themselves?

The way I read it, the last of what you wrote. This is their chance to get regular playing time and show what they can do (like Rose did). If they're good enough, they'll get another shot at Spurs.

Exactly Rose went on loan was their player of the season and made it clear through his performances that he should be our plans moving forwards.

think at the moment. They are not ready to be a part of our first team. It's likely a last chance for them. If they impress on loan. Then they might have a future with us.

I think Poch has given both their chances in the senior squad, I guess he isn't convince that they are the players to take us forward.

Important season for them. Hopefully they will get a lot of first team experience.

At the end of the day... They are still part of our team even thou they are on loan. Hoping they will do well and have a chance in our team next season. If not... Hopefully a buy back clause and/or sell on fees if we offload them.

It's pretty clear, despite the Spanglish. A young player gets given a chance to play with the first team. Some players promptly cement a place in the first team squad and are selected regularly (for example, Winks) - they stay.

If you find yourself playing only sporadically, then the club will consider a loan, because that's the only way you're going to develop well enough to get second crack at the first team squad.

Onomah and Carter-Vickers weren't going to get enough games this season to prove themselves at WHL, sorry, I mean Wembley. So they get to do it somewhere else.

I just cannot see where they would have got a run of games in the short term. Lets hope that like Harry and Rose that they can devlope a lot quicker.

I think they can only go so far based just on training. Poch and his team have put all the necessary skills into their game, the next logical step if they aren't getting regular games at Spurs, is to send them out to put it into practice elsewhere.
I get the bit about Poch wanting them within the club, so they can make sure all the right skills and habits are ingrained, before sending them out.
In reality, Walker, Rose, Kane all benefitted from loans, even Townsend, Caulker and Carroll progressed well on loans. Alli had plenty of competitive minutes prior to joining. I think the club have got the timing of this about right. Walker-Peters is either going to follow too, or else do a Winks.
