Its actually outrageous. Typical it had to be Spurs.

For a period of time and the only time in my lifetime. We had the best CB pairing in the League. Jan and Toby will always hold a special place for me.

Toby has been a colossus for us. Absolute class and more than good enough to still at least be in the squad (certainly better than Qatar). However it does also feel like the right time for all involved to part ways with some amazing memories.

Best CB I've seen at Spurs. I remember sitting in row 1 at wolves away and he was marshalling the entire team. Amazing player.

I mention him in the same breath as Ledley as the best defender we’ve had in the premier league era. PossIbly the best defender in Europe for a time. What a signing he was. Wish him well!

Best passing range of any centre-back I've ever seen. The Toby-Jan partnership in that final season at the Lane was probably the best cb partnership we're ever likely to see.

He and Jan were an unbelievably strong partnership, certainly the best since Mabbutt & Gough.
