One of the best signings of the last decade (for £11m) and a fantastic CB in his prime, now it's probably time to go. Wish him all the best.

Loved the Toby/Jan partnership to bits but it’s sadly time to call time on it and get in a new younger pair of CB‘s. Wish Toby all the best in his new club ?

I am absolutely terrified there’s no news of moving him on.

if it’s true about him being influential with the players and if we are signing more french speaking players, keeping the Goat around may not be that bad an idea.

Just don’t want him anywhere near the pitch when we are losing / playing a big match ?

The life of a top footballer is genuinely incredible isn’t it? Woke up today, flown out to Qatar in no doubt luxurious circumstances, knowing full well you’re about to earn yourself staggering amounts of money.

Certainly beats my morning of getting up and going for breakfast in Bethnal Green in the pissing rain

As a fan, Toby in Qatar is such a waste. I hope he can find a better footballing situation. Money talks, of course, but I’d like to be able to see him play and he needs to stay sharp for the WC.

Is there that much of a difference between Qatar and Belgium football leagues? I know nothing about both tbh but Qatar have put a decent amount into their football since they paid for the World Cup and there national team seems to have come on a fair bit. Of course it’s probably aswell though.

Will be sad to see him go. The last of the best back 4 I’ve seen us have - Walker/Toby/Jan/Rose. Criminal he hasn’t won something with us, but then that goes for most players the last few years!

I doubt footballers view trophies the same way fans does. When he hang up his boots, it's the riches and security for his familiy that's the real trophy.

He can look back on his career with pride regardless.

So we’re selling him for more than we bought him for? Incredible deal for Spurs and probably Toby as well. Genuinly believe him coupled with Jan were among the best CB’s in the for a couple of seasons.

Wish him nothing but the best.
