Oh it seems he must have one of those Hugo Lloris release clauses that don't actually exist.

Why is it that the media has to make up this exact same story about one of our players at least once a year?

Because they are scared that we are going to ruin the status quo that looks to have been reestablished this season.

He probably had a release clause of £25m in his Atletico contract, since all La Liga players have to have a release clause in their contracts, and that's caused some confusion.

Internet football forum fantasists love buy out clauses, along with multiple player swap deals.
No evidence Spurs have ever contracted a player with a buy out clause.
Why would they do do?

Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld set to sign new long-term deal to end speculation about his future

Tottenham expect to tie star defender Toby Alderweireld to a new long-term contract soon.

Talks are ongoing with the 27-year-old Belgian who has established himself as one of the most influential players at the club and in the Premier League.

Mirror Sport understands the discussions had begun even before the controversial claim, made by controversial whistleblowers Football Leaks last night, that Alderweireld has a £25.4million clause in his contract.

Spurs are insistent that no player has an active release clause at White Hart Lane. Also that they would have no problem rejecting any and all offers for Alderweireld during the transfer window.

Can't wait for him to get back into action and delighted about the new contract in the offing. My favourite player.

BACK IN THE SQUAD TOMORROW!!!

#thfc Poch: "Toby will be in the squad tomorrow. We're happy. He's recovered well. Ben Davies will be available Thursday for selection."
We have Lloris, Toby, Dembele (fit and on form), Harry injury free between now and the end of the season then we're in business. That spine though the team is crucial.

Gotta fuck off the EL though.

I think RE Europa, either take it seriously or not at all, if we half-arse it then we wont get anywhere in the competition and our league form will take a hit. If we choose to ignore then just play the kids and let them get some game time and experience with no pressure even if it is for just two games.

Or win it. I could cope with that, too...

If we're going for prem/CL qual and winning the EL, we'll get neither. All indicators this season have pointed to us having to shift our eggs into one of the two baskets (Europe or domestic).

The squad's not right for that yet; 2 key injuries and we're fucked again. Too precarious.

And guys...if he takes some games to get back into [GOD MODE], let's not start fantasising about replacing him in January and/or calling for Carter-Vickers to start.
