Good! It's not the bloody OIympics and finishing third isn't a thing. Nobody cares who came third in the FA Cup or the Champion's League or the men's singles at Wimbledon, do they?Nope
He looks physically wrecked to me. If the club are smart we should allow him a few weeks to properly recover and have him back and firing at 100% for the season run-in.
There is no need to rush him straight back into the side IMVHO.
Sorry but I hate this. If we win nothing it doesn't mean it was all for nothing. There's so much more to the game than just a trophy. Son will be a club legend and his legacy will live on with the club. So many memorable moments in his time here and I'm sure there will be more. Obviously a trophy will cap it off nicely though.Forget anything else, I want us to win something so Sonny's career with us wasn't ultimately for nought like H's when all said and done.
I think he’ll be on the bench but he has played a lot of football in the last 3 weeks - his body will be exhausted. It’s not just the amount of minutes played over the season - it’s the amount in a short timeframe that can lead to fatigued muscles. We've had no Europe this year. He's played considerably less football this year than he usually would have. No reason why he doesn't feature
A few weeks? No professional player takes a few weeks off mid-season just because of fatigue. He looks physically wrecked to me. If the club are smart we should allow him a few weeks to properly recover and have him back and firing at 100% for the season run-in.

There are whole leagues that take a few weeks off.A few weeks? No professional player takes a few weeks off mid-season just because of fatigue.
He’s been playing a lot of football, but it’s hardly been the most intense in terms of standard or pace.
Disagree. His legs are heavily strapped up, it’s not just fatigue. He needs some recovery time. There is no reason for him to be rushed back.A few weeks? No professional player takes a few weeks off mid-season just because of fatigue.
Plus one has to take into account the mental drain. He might be physically back but he might not be “fit” to play. I’m sure he will want to be involved because that is his nature but I’m not sure how much he would actually bring to the table Saturday. Tbh we should have more than enough to win without him and ideally he will be an unused sub.Not sure I agree.
He has played 600 minutes + stoppage time since January 15. They were not just having a walk about. And, only one of the games would have been considered "easy" for South Korea - with 3 knockout games, and the last two group games ending in draws with late goals.
The back-to-back 120+ minute games in particular would have left his muscles more fatigued than typical - and thus leave him a bit more susceptible to muscle injuries until he has a shot at real recovery.
I think he makes the bench, but does not necessarily play.
A competition taking a planned break to mitigate general fatigue is completely different to a player missing multiple consecutive fixtures due to fatigue. There are whole leagues that take a few weeks off.
Even the Premier League has scheduled at least one week off for every team in in January.
