Obviously but wanting him to lose the next game instead of have a chance of winning it so he is back for an extra game or two is a little short sighted.

South Korea won this last time minus Son, I think people are jumping to worst case scenarios after the Malaysia result the other day

That's not what I'm saying though.

I'd rather they play Iran and Uzbekistan early if they aren't going to beat them. If they do beat Uzbekistan, they're in a great position to win the whole thing. Either scenario is better than cruising through the final just to lose there instead.

Surely the best player at these games is Son though right? What a huge achievement it would be for him to drag his nation over the finishing line

This is what sonny is doing in these two matches. Almost played as a no.10 and try to attract the defenders to stay in the middle (Son is not an Eriksen or Lamela that can play killer pass). Korea thus has a lot of chances to cross from the wings. But their crosses are just terrible.

Wikipedia says the military service must be carried out before the age of 35.

What is going on?

Just noticed that South Korea star goalkeeper Jo who was man of the match against Germany was injured in the second half. A big blow, as the other keeper was at fault when they lost to Malaysia.

Uzbekistan will be tough, they've played 4, scored 13 and conceded 0. Whoever wins the match on Monday should go all the way.

Not sure about the winner necessarily going all the way.

One would think that the likes of Japan, UAE, China and Saudi Arabia whom are all in action tomorrow, would pose more threat than the likes of Hong Kong and Thailand and some lesser known teams that have already faced S.Korea and Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan will be tough. Heard say they are the best team in the tournament. Played 4 won 4. Scored 13 conceded 0.

*people need to understand this is U23 and bares no relation to say japan or Iran being in WC.

Sonny next up Sunday morning 10 AM.

Japan, UAE, China and Saudi Arabia are all on the other side of the draw.

Son plays Uzbekistan next, winner take on the winners of Syria Vs Vietnam to get to the finals

Never worth £80m. If he was and someone offered that I'f guarantee Levy would be jumping up and down extremely excitedly uncontrollably wetting himself.

I'd say £40-45m tops

All about opinion.
Very frustrating player. First touch often appalling. Blows hot and cold.

How on earth can you not take into account the possible military service when valuing a player.
Perhaps I am overvaluing him with that hanging over him.
I think Son is decent but falls short on so many things. Not sure any top 4 PL team would be in for him if for sale.

Most in the £80m bracket Son is supposed to be in according to many on here are able to consistantly control the football when it is passed to them.

Sorry but you're being a bit of a dick.

There's probably not a single wide player in the PL/Europe that has better goals & assists ratios than Son over the last 2 seasons.

Fair enough if you don't personally rate the lad, but you're chatting nothing but shit.

Uzbek beat Bangladesh 3-0, Qatar 6-0, Thailand 1-0 and then Hong Kong 3-0. So obviously you can only beat the teams in front of you, but they're not smashing top teams.
