And - I don't want any player standing in the way of Udogie!!

(but its mostly a numbers game, and Reguilon probably has the most value right now)
We as a fan base need to stop thinking like accountants. We’re not Leicester City / Bournemouth / Watford. We’re one of the richest football clubs in the world. We should keep the best players to give us the best chance of on field success rather than selling the player with the highest market value.

It’s so sad that many of us think about numbers first because I can assure you fans of the top clubs certainly don’t (unless they’re up against FFP issues).

Personally I think it is not necessarily the financials that are stopping us signing CBS it is players like regullion.
I would get rid asap - can’t think of a game he has played for us at all that made me sit up and think there is a player.
We are over bloated with defenders atm like and sadly many need to Be moved on.

reggie - sell
Davisson - well
Tanga - sell
Dier sell/keep 1 of him and Davies
Davies
Romero keep
Spence loan to epl Club
Sess loan/sell if he stays fit to pass
Medical
Reggie like Davinson, sess, spence were all
Signings people were chuffed with when we signed them but they did not
Work out.

Surely we can get 10mil for him?

To be fair, many of our incomings have been loans with options...
A least with us the other clubs knew we will pay the money as we can afford to do so. Bit tired of all spanish teams taking cheap loans and then step away from any permanent deal.
But probably better to agree to these deals than keep the players...

Funny to think we were convinced Madrid would end up triggering the buy back on him when he joined. One of the most disappointing transfers of recent years.

The real problem is that no PL clubs are interested. The league is unbelievably competitive now and we can no longer expect to shift our deadwood to mid-lower PL clubs.

Can't wait for him to return in another 12 months...

Needs to be an obligation or straight sale - even if we have to take a £5m hit on him.

Cant afford to mess around with this chance to offload him.

Real Sociedad have been looking heavily at Kieran Tierney as well so we need to be reasonable in negotiations or they will move on and we'll be stuck with another unwanted player.

We just need bodies out the door, by hook or by crook.

Not ideal again these terms but we are at the point where we need to take what's given.

I guess this is what happens when one league is vastly more wealthy than any other league. Unless teams in that league (or Saudi Arabia now but they want mostly glamour players) want to buy your players you are kinda stuffed.

This is the thing. All these clubs are skint. They just loan our dead wood until they eventually afford to sign them for a nominal fee or on a Bosman.
I agree, but its also wages that hamper Spanish teams, as with the exception of the two big boys, the rest of the league can't match or better the wages of premiership players.

Absolutely - SC has spent all week going "FFS Levy just accept anything to get bodies out the door" only to turn its nose up when they see what actually is on offer.

It seems like a decent solution for everyone from my perspective.

This guy has been a really dreadful signing I have to be honest. Slightly above average when he’s been fit, which has been hardly ever. I’d honestly sell him for 5m like someone else suggested. He’s not up to the top level

I suppose the optimist in me thinks if we get loans for some of our players until the ends of their contracts then they atleast dont cost us anything (as long as we get their wages covered)
Also, theres always a small possiblity they do amazing and we get a fee from somewhere)

How comes they've got such little money?

Still feeling the effects of Covid. But also prem TV rights money and petroclub ownership has distorted wages and fees to astronomical levels that there is a disparity between what top half prem clubs pay and what clubs on the continent (with the exception of the established elite) can afford.
