It makes complete sense that Genoa would take us for a ride with the price - they know we're desperate
He isn't the only CB around mate. They will already know we were interested in Todibo and moved on quickly when it didn't suit. They'll also know we did the same thing in the Summer when we moved on to VdV from Topsoba.

There are strong rumours that VDV is back in full training and Romero is ahead of schedule and likely to be back for Brentford at the latest.

We have also shown under Ange that we are flexible in our targets.

I don't think Genoa have a great deal of leverage.

I agree, there are definitely other players we'll be looking at.

Guess it depends what our deadline is for signing a centre back, if we're looking to have somebody in for the United game or if we're willing to risk a few more weeks to get our preferred target...

If it's imperative we sign somebody in time for United, then we'll need to think about moving on soon if Genoa are going to play games.

The above could also mean that we aren't actually as desperate as we were and we could end up walking away until the summer

Has there been anything to say they are?

Have I missed something? I thought all reports here were talking ongoing and going well? What's changed and that they are messing us about come from?

Just some of the latest reports from Italian papers, but could be a load of bollock...

It's just usual negotiations mate. We all should take a step back and not read into every report that comes out every other minute, trying to generate clicks.

Probably is just a load of old bollocks. If its not, i also wouldn't be massively surprised. Its common knowledge the Italian game is in poor financial health and for the smaller teams they have limited opportunity to raise a decent amount to help balance the books.
An extra few million to spurs is not comparable to the difference an extra few mil could make to Genoa.

The reports are essentially saying, Napoli are in for Dragusin but he prefers to move to Tottenham and is prepared to wait until the summer. Genoa are asking for a fair bit more than initial discussions, Napoli are offering two players plus cash, one player already on loan to Genoa in hope of meeting their valuation.

FWIW I think we probably still get this done but definitely feels like it has the potential to drag on.

That'll be Genoa briefing their journos that they're fighting all the way to keep their best player, and will only let him go for an irresistible price.

The Talks are ongoing right now navigating payment structures and fees. we are still persistent and confident to get this done. the focus remains on crafting a comprehensive agreement with Genoa for Dragusin. Deal isn't done but it's not far from it !!

To Add personal terms are done and Tottenham has received communication from the player he's happy with the terms offered.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully it’ll calm the nerves of those listening a little too closely to aggregators spamming Dragon’s agent’s quotes.

Thanks for the updates. As expected really. Although a lot less clickbaitable as some of the crap that goes around if a transfer isn't completed within 20 minutes of news about it breaking, seems a lot more realistic.

I have no idea what (if anything at all) Napoli are offering but if this is in any way true, it does show why we are having so much success in the Italian market. Juve, Inter and Milan are skint, and the team that won the title last season is having to barter for 25mil players because they can't buy them out right. Long gone are the days where the big Italian sides could just hoover up all the top young talent like is done in Spain and Germany leaving the door wide open for Fab, and Levy must love that.

Anyone who has done business with Italian companies will know that when you think it is all agreed they'll like as not want more money or a discount it doesn't mean anything.
I do also wonder if the latest reports out of Hotspur way about Romero and Van de Ven being ready to play are a bit of negotiating license.
