I admire PEH for his work rate and for what he did for us last year when all our midfield was breaking down thru injuries. I don't think he has the skillset (it actually does spellchecker back to skillet lol) to be a main player under ange but love his words ... players like him, davies and perisic in the background (maybe even dier if he really does want to stay and fight for a place this year) acting like professionals (obviously getting handsomely rewarded) can only be a positive for any youngster who choose to use their eyes around the training ground. I'm sure he will go in Jan but 4 months of seeing a few seasoned pros putting in the miles in training despite limited minutes must help any younger players to see the 'right way' to conduct themselves..

Our midfield options for 3 positions are Bissouma, Bentancur, Maddison, Lo Celso, Skipp, Sarr and Hojbjerg which is pretty incredible particularly as they all add something a little different.

Pleased to have him as option until at least January

I think we should shift PEH and GLC (maybe Skipp too), and try for Eze next summer, if we qualify for European competitions then we promote Devine/Donley

My hope was that we would choose options which were about developing talents for the long term, thankfully Ange has been brave enough to do it with Hojbjerg staying. I do fear that Skipp will continue to stagnate as it will be Pierre who is trusted. Howerver with Hojbjerg staying, I hope it becomes a situation where the planets align and we end up having a season beyond expectation because that's when Hojbjerg will show his worth, to get us over the line and defend some crucial leads.

Skipp won’t stagnate because of Hojbjerg. If Skipp deserves minutes in this system he will get them. Skipp is a big boy now and responsible for his own playing time and performances. He’s 23 next week, ffs.

Important Højbjerg goal for Denmark against Finland... 1-0 ... 86 min... classic Højbjerg finish from just outside the box.

Had 0-0 written all over it. Terrible match and why is Hjulmand putting two defenders on in the 80th minute when we needed to score? Awful management.

I think adding Viktor Kristiansen was because he is a better crosser of the ball, and Simon Kjær to be on the end of those crosses. It think he was looking to start lumping balls in to the box to get the goal.

Shit game and Denmark don't look right.

Good point about the subs. The team hasn’t looked right since the Kazakhstan game. Kjaer, Braithwaite, Poulsen and Delaney need to be phased out in my opinion. Their time is coming to an end.

He was definitely looking at a new house in London in August (happy to verify this with mods) but was dithering about offering as he wasn't sure if he would be staying (it was a 2-3 year contract) and has now pulled out altogether.

As a sub he's a great option as he has experience, he's a leader, and he has a few goals in him.
But can't see him sticking around on the bench unless we are still close to the top in December and can convince him he has a role to play (and nobody can afford what we want for him...)

Actually he's signed a contract on a house near the training ground now so who knows!
(the other one was much more central in London)

I’ve criticised his limitations previously but I have to say he was great when he came on yesterday and played a big part in us turning the game around. He was always looking to play forward and was involved in the the lead up to the corner leading to the goal and in the tidy interplay in the build up to the winner. Ange coaching a more forward thinking style of play into him I wonder?

Having good experienced heads like Perisic and PEH to come on and help manage games will be invaluable this season.

Fair play to him for not sulking and accepting his new bit-part role in the team.

Hojbjerg linked with Juventus, same day we are linked with Bremer. Maybe some swap deal in January?
