Was poor against Southampton and rightly dropped but my goodness the criticism for him overall is way over the top and unfair and today showed EVERYTHING he is about.

So many tackles and interceptions and breaking up play, absolutely vital todsy in such a tough away game, great character, great attitude and a far better footballer than many give him credit for, also probably the best foil for Bentancur that we have in our squad currently.

Can we upgrade on him longer term? absolutely. Can he still even at that point be a very important squad player? YES. Is the criticism of him to date unfair? YES.

Brilliant performance today ?

Obviously been mentioned, but Felt like he and Bentancur were excellent today. Offered the requisite grit we needed and you have to love that effort at the very end of the match to chase the ball down that wrapped it up.
