My only issue with this signing is that his name sounds like one of those cringey scouse nicknames that the Liverpool fans give their players.

Hendo -Henderson
Robbo - Robertson
Porro - Porridgeson

Tucking Brilliant :ROFLMAO:

Seems utterly bizarre to me that we were crying out for a player just like Bissouma to make up for the lack of pressing up front, then when we got him Conte decided to play him as a holding midfielder when he is essentially an 8. To compound that he then decides to play Skipp (who is first and foremost a 6) as a wide right midfielder. This is like buying an Airfix model of a Spitfire and trying to make it into a submarine. I'd like us to get Porro though because he really should be a good fit straight off the bat.
To be fair he did also play Eriksen in a deeper role and it did work after a while. He also famously used Moses as a wingback. I think it would be fairer to judge after a while, Bissouma has barely played and had chance to learn the role.

Sorry, that’s incorrect. We’re 13 points apart because their team is already playing better than we are. Signing this guy (regardless of the price) only makes the likelihood of them widening the gap bigger.
Unless we suddenly hit form, the NLD will do that.

Seriously, how many clubs will pay the full amount in one go?

If they want the player and the selling club sticks to it's guns they all will. It justs means arranging financing for the amount from another source on terms similar to the usual structure.

It's what Arsenal did with Partey.

I honestly don't know why we don't give Bissouma instructions to just do what he did so well at Brighton.

I find it hard to believe that other than maybe city, Newcastle and chelsea in the PL not many clubs would pay or be able to pay all upfront and they would look to negotiate payment terms

It is, but of course can be worked around. Can negotiate that with the club or it can be done through a 3rd party for instance.
It is but look at the Chelsea deal for Fernandez as just one way to get around that. According to Athletic Chelsea are paying 6m over the release clause so they can pay in installments. Just one way to get around all up front.

So the same as paying through a 3rd party lender then.

Yep absolutely as paying over the release clause amount is same as paying interest to 3rd party lender. Good few different ways of getting around it if a club wants a player enough.

What - they paid £40m in one lump sum?

I find it hard to believe that other than maybe city, Newcastle and chelsea in the PL not many clubs would pay or be able to pay all upfront.

They’ll still negotiate the fee over instalments

They paid £45m I think, as Trix just said 3rd party lender, they pay them in installments as opposed to paying the club.

Problem is Levy will want his cake and to eat it. Low fee and little up front.
