I really hope we did not waste this much time "negotiating" ? only to pay the release clause at the end of the window, and not the start...

Yes and we'll miss out on the CL by fewer than the points dropped in January.

Meanwhile the Benevolent Son's of Daniel Levy will renew their faith in Dear Leader for the next 5 Managers...

For what it’s worth, the account that is claiming the source being CMJornal was asked where they saw it. They responded saying it was just broadcast live on CMTV.

No idea what that is or if it’s true, but it appears to be the origin of this latest bit of news.
CMTV were the first to break Vincius to us....I remember cause I was watching it live at the time.

So could be a good sign

Seen a few mention that he wouldn't be a good player for Poch if he came back. Well before Poch came in, Walker and Rose were both getting bashed for their defensive performances and didn't look too great.

Then the 'full-back' whisperer came and took their game on.

They can defend by being aggressive and on the front foot.

That goes for other like-minded coaches

...and part of the reason it worked so well is because Poch had Dier drop alongside both Toby and Jan to form a back 3 whilst the FBs bombed on.

I thought the issue was not meeting the clause itself but whether it was all upfront. If the latter would have prevented us looking at deals like Danjuma - and possibly others according to earlier itk - then surely a good thing to negotiate terms?

That’s far too logical!

Well we just hijacked danjuma so surely there is hope!!

ps Lisbon won tonight hahaha

Bit of a difference nicking a star player from the clutches of PSG compared to shafting Everton for an out of favour loanee. Although our little Gordon gekko probably disagrees.

So I guess all those earlier reports of offers below the release clause and/or including players were simply made up. Makes sense.

Not necessarily made up but maybe not entirely accurate. Including players obviously counts as value in a deal - and helps us out freeing squad places so same reasoning applies. As has been said previously, that Sporting were at the table suggests they were more open to discussion than reports suggested…

We might have freed up some money in getting Danjuma instead of Zaniolo if that is what's happening to maybe go in more aggressively for Porro, but if that's not the case it doesn't ?

Tottenham pay Porro clause: departure of right winger imminent

Promise of the English to Sporting, with whom they will meet today to close a 45 million deal

rest is behind a paywall but Record is the reliable Sporting paper if I'm not mistaken
