I guess peoples player of the season can mean more than just performances. Porro has done some sublime passes, has a great attitude and always keeps going. For me he’s the most improved player of the season so far.

I think its hard to pick a standout so far, it’s been the whole team stepping up, especially with the massive injury list.

Personally I think Vic and VdV and Maddison (if they had stayed fit) were bigger game-changers. They formed a new spine which was integral to the great start to the season.

But Porro, Romero, Sarr, Son and Bissouma have also been majorly important players this season. It’s just a pity a number of them have missed so many games.

I was watching a match the other day, forget who was playing, but I spotted a young lad called Trent Alexander-Arnold that we should buy and apprentice to Pedro Porro. He’s not at that level yet but he showed he can play in Pedros position to an adequate standard and we then can rest Pedro against the smaller teams like those Trent was playing against the other night.

Porro has to many been Spurs player of the season so far. He has excelled in Ange's system, when many questioned whether he could play anything other than right wing back before the season started.

Our injury crisis is starting to look better, with players coming back from injury and two signings already completed.

During the international tournaments, our weakest link is arguably the 8 position. Sarr is unavailable, Bentancur can play there but is preferred in defensive midfield with Bissouma also unavailable. Lo Celso have played well there this season, but has picked up another knock. The options remaining are Hojbjerg and Skipp who have failed to impress this season, at least when in the starting eleven.

Unless Ange decides to get creative and play Porro in this position. On the ball, he already plays more as a midfielder than a defender in our system. Below is an example of our average positions, where he is operating in similar areas to Hojbjerg.

With an influx of available CBs to the team, Emerson could take the RB position, allowing Porro to operate with more freedom knowing that he has more protection behind him.

The most similar player to Porro in the league is Alexander-Arnold. Trent has been used in this midfield position for Liverpool and England, and the Athletic's Liverpool correspondent is now arguing to make this permanent by signing a right back in January.

Grat performance today and my motm. Fucking engine on the lad. He just gets it. So comfortable on the ball and he is so dangerous in the final 3rd.

Thought it was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde performance from Porro today, some fantastic stuff mixed in with real wasteful stuff in positions you would expect more from him.

I agree that he is similar to TAA in terms of what he could contribute for us. So similar to TAA if we can keep our high-line and front-foot style it would allow him to do more of what he does best.

He is our Trent as others have referenced. If we want to allow him to get forward the others who offer less (in todays case PEH and Skipp) as well as the CB alongside have to take responsibility in covering for him going forward.

Rashford knew from early on he was either going to be left in space/faced just one on one he could take him, second half we made more of an effort to double team/cover accordingly. Just need to start the games from the off with the mentality of the latter.

In general he's been phenomenal this season. On target for 12-15 assists which is incredible for a full-back.

Needs to score though, 33 shots without registering is it? 😁

Best run of corner taking I can recall throughout a game. Struggled at times first half to defend Rashford but coming into midfield he was class. Just need a bit better quality from Johnson on the right today.

Sorry can’t agree about his performance today..1st half was a shocker gave the ball away and was found out on two goals…his delivery for corners was good but he needs to do better defensively

Hes involved in so much going forwards which is where the positive reviews come from but i do agree either he needs to find a balance or we need to cover better for him pn the defensive side.

Udogie strikes a better balance on on his side -hes involved in parts offensively but doesnt look as vulnerable as we do on the right.

Had a really difficult first half vs Rashford however his delivery as usual was very good and he grew into the match in the second half. Having a wonderful season overall.
