With Hojbjerg staying, Skipp badly needs a loan to get him playing football. When Sarr, Bissouma and GLC are back he might not make the squad.

I feel like it was tactical more then anything he did or didn't do. Ange wanted to bring Kulu into central midfield so by moving a more attacking minded player into CM he felt we needed a more defensive minded one sitting behind them, PEH in this case. Pretty logical switch IMO.

I am by no means Skipps biggest fan but actually in the last two games he's looked very solid to be fair to him. Considering he is HG and club trained he will be probably kept around and I have no issue with that if he continues to play at the level he has been of late. He will obviously never be anything then a squad player but thats fine for now.

Also worth mentioning that he had pelvic surgery not that long ago and hasn't really had a run of games since. He stepping in and filling gaps more than anything and I think under the circumstances he's doing a great job for us.

Felt being subbed at half-time was harsh, but it worked. I don't think he did much wrong he just didn't offer much in attack.
Sometimes subs are about a change of tactic / dynamic, rather than taking off someone because they're underperforming or tired. Mourinho did it all the time at Chelsea (e.g. Fabregas in for Matic), to good effect. It might feel harsh to the player, but as you say, it worked!

What do you want the club to do with skipp considering he is currently 7th choice CM but is HG and club trained

A) permanent sale/Loan with obligation
B) Loan with option/"dry" loan
C) Keep

And if sell what would you expect/want fee to be?

It's a conundrum for sure. We should keep him imo but I doubt he's happy. He has shown time and again that given regular gametime he can be better than 'decent' but if we will only use him in injury crises I can't see him wanting to hang around.

We are pretty tight on HGs as well. Selling him will exacerbate that. I think give him another year when we have european football to see if he can force his way into the side, and I think PEH is likely to leave this summer possibly opening the door for him.

It must really suck being told by a very successful manager that he is the future of spurs to struggling to make the bench.

Although he's young given the limited minutes I think Bergvall replaces Skipp. I can't imagine we won't replace Hojbjerg in the summer too so he might be surplus next season. It's hard to see a place for him and he really struggles if he doesn't play much (as anyone would).

From the limited highlights I've seen Bergvall looks more like competition for Sarr or maddison than Skipp to me. Skipp will never be a goalscoring midfielder.

I think with the HG requirements you probably have to keep him. He’s not on big wages and can “do a job”, and at the very least can tide us over until a couple of the youngsters come through. Hopefully.

So where does Skipp play? He's miles away from being an out comfortable on the turn under pressure 6?

For me he's a 6, but one that doesn't really fit our current system. But he's club trained which we are very short on unless Devine, Donley, Dorrington, Scarlett will be asked to fill those roles.

As I said, it's a conundrum. If I was Skippy I would probably be reluctantly looking to move on for regular gametime.

But that's where Skipp has been playing

Yes but thats not his natural position imo. Hes a defensive midfielder.

He's still relatively young and can maybe learn so heart wants him to stay but head says he'll probably move on.

I think with the injuries we’ve had in a season where we haven’t actually played that many games coupled with PEH unlikely to stay and lo celso possibly going (if we can get decent money) I think he’s definitely got to stay.

I see no issue with letting 3 of them go in the Summer personally. Bergvall is already coming in which gives us Bergvall, Maddison, Sarr, Bissouma, Bentancur, and even Kulu. 5/6 for 3 spots. One more #6 specialist in and we'd be more than covered numbers wise.

If HG wasn't a thing I'd be looking to sell. I think it should be either keep or sell either way. No loans, unless that is the only option left on the table come latter stage of the window. He's not going to get many minutes here if everyone is fit.

Unless Ange is able to re-train him as a right back in this system, which is unlikely, I just don't see him getting minutes next season.

Skipp really needs to leave in the summer for the sake of his own career to be brutally honest.

I think this will largely depend on what Skippy wants - it's doing his career no favours to never play.

What he needs are some good anti aging supplements. Guy looks like he’s approaching 40
