I really like the look of him but just feel Tapsoba is worth pushing the boat out for. Would’ve been a more sure bet to take us up a level. But this kid definitely has something about him and there are a few shades of Jan when watching him so definitely not complaining if he does arrive.

Absolutely loving how quick we appear to be doing our business this year. Feels refreshing that we're lining everyone up before the preseason tour begins so they have plenty of time to get ready for the season starting, rather than still negotiating deals right up to the close of the summer window.

Tapsoba not completely out of the picture. But we won't be bringing them both in until we shift some of the deadwood. Interest in Tanganga, Sessegnon, Reguilon and Sanchez. Haven't heard of any interest in Rodon or Dier but that's not to say there isn't any.

His top end athleticism means he’s got the higher ceiling between him and Tapsoba, but if we can only have one (hope it isn’t the case), Tapsoba is the one. I don’t see that much between them defensively, both a bit more passive in their approach and both great fits on paper next to Romero. It’s the ability on the ball that’s a huge difference. Reliable, elite ball progression long and short and extreme calm under pressure is something that Tapsoba possesses. VDV not yet. He’s a fine passer, but nothing more yet. He’s much more of a carrier, which is fine, but I feel that is diluted a bit in Ange’s aggressive system. Would be a better fit to have elite passing progression in that position in my eyes. But VDV is a natural left footer that provides better symmetry, has a higher ceiling, and (whether this should matter or not) is cheaper. As already mentioned, I don’t think, talking pure defensive ability, there is much difference between the two, which should be priority when choosing Romero’s partner. I do think this would be a great signing and another one that just makes a ton of sense, which is encouraging. But on the ball there is a sizable gap. VDV could easily close that gap, but he hasn’t yet. So that’s the difference for me.

But just on the bolded part, Ange definitely has progressive carries out of defence as part of his philosophy as Carter-Vickers used to carry the ball and drive through the first line of defence constantly

No idea just came out of the blue. A Poster mentioned him and said Ali Gold And Maybe Romano follow him, then he dropped Maddison call. Then there was a photo of him and Ange together. First summer hes got traction, plus he mentioned something else which I dont remember prob Vicario

Just an observation, inc Tosin we seem to be looking at pretty tall Defenders, thats 3 anyway
