I bet this one gets done this week and we try for Tapsoba later/after outgoings
I quite like Tosin but I think i'd much prefer us to keep Japhet as 4th choice, sell everyone else and buy Tapsoba with cash from Sanchez, Rodon, Dier and possibly Davies.

Tanganga isn’t going to make the grade I’m afraid. He just isn’t good enough has massive brain farts during games . He is also incredibly injury prone for a young player that don’t play very much

He’s not a young player either. He’s 24. He’s played a woeful amount of men’s football. He’s never going to make it here, should have been moved on by now.

Neither is Dier, Rodon, or Sanchez though. Davies in a back 4 with a high line is probably a disaster. Can't see us bringing in 3 centre halves so have to keep one of them.

In an absolute sense he isn't good enough but relative to our other deadwood CBs it makes the most sense to keep him.

Well if it really came to it would keep Davies for his versatility. Tosin has been a decent performer for Fulham and would definitely be a upgrade on tanganga

Of course, but that's under the assumption we bring in 3 CBs. Can't see that.

It really doesn’t. He’s 24 and has only played 27 senior games. He’s shown nothing in that time to make me think he’s any better than Dier, Sanchez, or Rodon. All of who have bags more senior and international experience. I get that it’s fashionable to run those three players down as not good enough, but they are all better than Tanganga, and it’s not even close.

The fact he’s made of glass doesn’t help either. There’s no point having a back up that’s never fit.

The only thing he has going for him is that he’s likely on the lowest wages out of the four players discussed here. That’s it.

I get that he’s a homegrown lad, and it would have been great to see him succeed, but the harsh reality is he’s not good enough and never will be.

I expect we will bring 2 in . Probably keep hold of dier . Along with Romero and use Davies and royal as central defensive cover if needs be .

sell Rodan tanganga and hopefully Sanchez

I wouldn't mind too much if we got Lenglet on the cheap IF we also got both VDV and Tapsoba.

Depth chart would look like this:
RB: Porro/Emerson/Spence
RCB: Romero/Tapsoba/Dier/Emerson
LCB: Tapsoba/VDV/Lenglet/Dier/Davies
LB: Destiny/Davies/VDV

Theres more depth than that if we can’t sell the others

Tanganga has had his chances and been found wanting.

If he’s kept, he’s not going to play much and he could take minutes and block the progress of Alfie Dorrington who looks like he could be the real deal.

Agreed, there is no way that Tanganga should be kept. Clearly isn’t good enough and is very often injured. If an offer comes in for him then snatch their hands off.

I'd keep Rodon as a homegrown if we got someone like Tapsoba who can shift across to the right side. Otherwise failing to get him we need a right centre back instead. It could be a matter of getting Tapsoba and VdV and keep Rodon with Romero. Or get VdV and Lenglet with Tosin and Romero. Either scenario we have 1 homegrown.
