Who's to say that we won't sign both if we sell Kane? Lining up this deal now with a view to signing a second CB later in the window once we have more clarity regarding Kane is perfectly sensible.

Overshadowed a little by Tapsoba but I think he's going to be a great player.

Might even be a better fit in an Ange system currently due to his Pace.

Huge, good on the ball. Can cover at LB. Ticks a lot of boxes and if we are rebuilding this year we might as well get someone who can grow into the system and become a star

Looks a great prospect but still disappointed we haven't pushed more for Tapsoba. Got to hope this kid hits the ground running.

Knew it would be him and not Tapsoba, cheaper, left footed, wanted by Postecoglu in the past. Still kind of hoping we get Tapsoba but I am not new to this. Very happy with this in any case.

And yet, there is nothing to say we won't get Taps, and given Mr Kane's 'I'll sign if we improve' maybe we've just pulled the trigger on the easier deal to get it done and Taps will follow on?

Could all just have been put on ice until Wolfsburg gets a replacement in defense. They now added Jenz and Zesiger as CB and are very close for Rogerio as LB.

He did that & here we go'd Gvardiol a month ago. He is still training regularly with Leipizig & it seems that just now things are slowly starting to move there.

Yeah I think the issue there is that the player or his background team could potentially get prematurely excited by a transfer when it’s not quite a done deal yet.
Reckon that was the case with Gvardiol, but that remains to be seen yet here.

Why are people assuming we won't get Tapsoba? We had talk of getting them both. Will only happen if Kane is going though I'm sure. Could honestly be either situation. Kane going so we get Tapsoba and VdV or Kane stays and we get VdV instead.

£25m fee will be good business and still leaves us able to get Tapsoba if his club reduce their price or payment terms.

They want £43m we want to do a deal around £35m, I think a deal is still likely.
