If you retain the ball for 60- 70% of the time, then the opponent has less opportunities to score.

It's hardly delusional.
Mistakes will also be made 40 yards from our goal not 4 giving time to recover in some cases

It's delusional to think this meek shitshow of team that was tumbling down the league in our last competitive games is going to become a 70% possession team at the start of next season. Itll be a transitional season. Anyone thinking otherwise is in for a rough time.

No, I am an optimist who doesn't lose his shit the first sign of a bump. I expect we will play better, even if we don't get another centre back.

Throwing words out like delusional and being negative isn't for me. It's amazing how so many people want to expect the worst, just to protect themselves from potential disappointment.

Our average possession last season was 51%, it's not unfeasible with some movement off the ball we could get up to 60% quite quickly.

Yeah no need for the name-calling but I just see teams destroying us on the counter with players like Dier and Davies playing, if they are playing of course

You just don't get it........ Forget ITK! Forget the media! Forget it all, It's all irrelevant!

Purely look at where we are as a squad and our needs and then look at our recent history in transfer windows the past 3-4 years. Just look at the absolute facts and what we 100% know about our transfer history and tell me you think things will be definitely be different this time around and why.

For me even if we do address the CB problem we have still hamstrung the coach with him not being able to work with these players during preseason. It really is important to get the key positions sorted as early as you can if you want to hit the ground running.

Yeah and 60% with the high line and high fullbacks against prem attackers with no quick cb is suicidal. If Ben Davies is our starting Cb, or dier or tanganga we will lose I would say 7/10 opening games.

“I think Ben has all the attributes I look for in a full back, particularly the way we play. At the moment he’s doing a job at CB but my inclination is that he will be a very very good left-back for us.”

Yeah…. I named two other cbs also. Plus I’ve watched Davies countless times get done by pace in the prem. He is simply not good or quick enough.

Take it up with Ange. He’s clearly missing something. I’m sure he’d be really appreciative of your expert analysis of “He’s not good enough mate, too slow”

Lol expert analysis? Did you watch him last season?
Ange isn’t gonna come out be like nah **** that guys slower than kuala bear is he?
You are simply a troll and you have gotten used to absolute mediocrity if you think Ben Davies is quality.

Well we have seen plenty of expert analysis on here disagreeing and criticising Conte and Mourinho who have been far more successful in their careers than Ange has. Can't we disagree with Ange?

The best form of defence is to not let your opponent have the ball. We’ve been bending over conceding possession and sitting back inviting pressure for ages.

For sure we’re going to get bent over again this year but hopefully we’ll be putting some away as well.
Yeah it is but look at arsenal when saliba got injured. They went from 2nd best defence in the league barely conceding to conceding 2-3 goals a game because they didn’t have salibas pace and ability covering counters. It makes a huge difference and that’s why pep went out and bought ake and akanji because he knew in the modern game you need fast athletic defenders who can cover the counter.
But I guess you know better than pep do you?

We’ll I don’t imagine he’d come out and say “he has ALL the attributes I look for in a full back particularly the way we play” unless there was some degree of truth in it, otherwise he’d just bat it away but who knows, maybe you’re right and he thinks he’s shit just like you, or, alternatively, he might just be telling the truth and he thinks differently to you.

Funny how people with different views get called trolls.

Anyway, VdV, looks a bit raw but i’ll take him and Tosin though it sounds like Tapsoba is the one.

And I believe we’re in the market for a CB or 2, no?

Of course, who says you can’t.
