89th player to have won a cup since we won.

That's why Kane wants to leave

Yes, that stat is a bit out of context though, pretty sure the majority counts Championship trophies and trophies in teams who play in weaker leagues than then Prem.

Huh? Trippier was known as one of the most attacking fullbacks in the league.

He had a very poor season in his last year here, something he himself admitted several times. Confidence was shot.

We were far too hasty to sell unfortunately.
He didn't have the atheism to bomb up and down like Walker did though, especially on the big Wembley pitch. So often he was pushing forward and we lost the ball for him to be caught forward and out of position. We got far too stretched.

He should’ve prayed harder!

Or the guys from youth teams that didn't even make senior debut here.

I wasn't upset to see Trippier go at the time but it makes you sad to think that we pocketed a £27m profit by selling our two first choice right backs (who've now won 4 league titles between them) and replacing them with Aurier and Doherty. Abysmal business from the footballing side of things.

Yes, player recruitment (and sales) is certainly a major issue for this club and has been for a while. The progress of some players after they leave us, and the deterioration of some very good players on our books, however, suggests that coaching is an even bigger long term issue.

A stat is just that a stat - it can be read in different ways so I agree - I mean look at Defoe winning the SPL as an example.

The fact is though you got Eriksen leaving - and he has won a Serie A and Trippier a couple of seasons ago having left has now won La Liga... to be honest I was one of those that wanted Trippier out. Great cross but his finger poiting was annoying as fuck.

Trips (y)
One of the only players to properly come over to the fans after the CL final, and for that I’ll always have respect for him. At least he’s got some happy memories of that stadium now!

Etienne Capoue too.

But all these players not good enough for us.

Maybe it shows that it is not the individuals that are a problem but the blend of good players that makes the team?

Frustrating that we see so many go off and win things away from Spurs.

Not sure who is reporting Trippier might return, but it seems unrealistic that he'd leave the La Liga champions and CL football behind to play for a club that isn't in the CL (or even EL) and pushed him out less than two years ago. It seems even more unrealistic in the context of rumours about the manager who pushed him out returning.
Maybe we'll resign Kaboul and Adebayour while we're at it...

Why is Trippier in the transfer rumour forum rather than general football lol?
