Some of his footwork and awareness in the box was incredible. Very few players move and find space/ sense pressure like him. What a blessing to have him on the squad. Hope he stays fit.

I don’t mind it to be honest. To be fair, Maddison has taken a very witty cut at him on national TV that most players wouldn’t have dared to do - he’s entitled to respond. There’s a bit of needle behind it but it’s funny and more entertaining than players regurgitating cliches or platitudes.

Well over half his career goals have been in the championship and French Ligue 2 as well, which makes the no relegations boast a little weirder as well. I don’t really think comparing CVs with Maddison is a good move for Neil fucking Maupay
