The Bentancur one was completely out of the blue, I don't think anybody even bothered to ask about him in the press conferences leading up to his return because it was just universally assumed that he was going to be out for several more weeks. With Maddison it genuinely feels like he's a couple of weeks away still.

It would also provoke questions about Ange’s integrity in the press conferences if Maddison suddenly appears 😅

I could be wrong, but I thought the club had included Bentancur in the list of players out for the Bournemouth game.

I know the guys name makes him out to be a complete chancer but as far as info goes he’s one of the best “ITK” guys on twitter. He’s called numerous things in the past before a lot of people.

I see he was sat in the crowd for the masters snooker last night. Loves a final does Madders.

Interestingly he also says in the replies that the team aren’t getting days off. Just today as per normal the day after a game.

Ange already said he's back training with the first team next week and he'll decide depending how he looks. I fancy he could start against City and play around an hour. Bit by bit we're getting some of our big players back.

The major thing here is if he returns to training with the team tomorrow, he has rest of this week and up to Thursday next week before City. Should hopefully be enough to see him start and come off second half.

Given he was out similar time to VdV we could see a similar return. VdV was on the bench for the cup but never played and then started against Utd. If we factor this weekend there is no game so Maddison doesn't need to sit on the bench for weekend. I fancy he can start on Friday next week and play around an hour.
