Bergwijn, Lamela, Lucas etc have to start applying themselves because I'll tell you what... Son and Kane won't be able to do it all season
Lamela was injured yesterday, and I assume you're not insinuating he doesn't apply himself when he's on the pitch...

Don't ask why I'm bringing this up the day before a game, but...

TIL not only is Kane our leading premier league goalscorer, but he also holds the record for most PL own goals scored by a Spurs player (3). I had to look them up, genuinely could only remember one against Swansea.
I've found the OG against Sunderland (13/9/14), and one against Belgian club Gent in the Europa League, but I can't find his 3rd OG in the PL.

No I don't remember that either - I think it may have been the 2-0 loss to them when Tactical Tim was in charge.

He is the best striker in the world currently for me. Vision and awareness, with the passing to match. Scoring goals from anywhere, inside/outside the box, left or right foot and head.

However, he was one of the issues in the second half yesterday. I’m my opinion he was trying too much to score his hat trick or try quarter back passes still when we should have been smarter and kept the ball, slowed the pace down.

One of the issues? Can’t agree there. There was one time I thought he should have passed - he could have slipped Son in for the one Fabianski turned around the post. He still was at the heart of everything good we did - and if Bale does the easy but we’d be talking about a 2 goal, 2 assist masterpiece that won us 3 points

i assume he means with regards to attacking output.

kane has 5 goals and 7 assists already, that's about the going rate for lucas/bergwijn/lamela over an entire season.

I said on the Match thread - if Kane keep this up he'll win the Ballon D'or.

But he probably also needs to win the League and/or Europa as well because he can't shine on the Champion's League stage.

Hope he can bring the rest of the team along with him because he's in special special form.

Kane has definitely gone up a level were talking Ballon d'Or contender if he keeps this up and we win a trophy.

My worry is most likely we do a Spurs bottle it and his off to pasture green

I imagine that one or two of the Son assists is probably been deemed that Son had too much work to do for it to be a chance created (e.g he had a player to beat v West Ham or had to go wide for the first v Southampton). Equally, the Doherty chance v Everton probably is being counted.

Blimey, that was some detour

I wonder when the last non CL Ballon D'or winner was? If there's ever been one that is.

That award is far too much of a popularity contest for someone like Kane to win it playing in the Europa League.

Kane is, with Lewandowski, the best out & out striker in world football. Then if you add his all round game play, his passing, defending, intelligence, strength etc etc then I think it puts him out as the best forward in world football. There are other players who are in contention but the guy is a genius and has only just turned 27, entering his prime.

If he goes on to break Shearers record he should be remembered as the greatest striker the Premier League has ever seen. However, I believe he will break the record but won't be remembered as the greatest ever because he plays for a club that hasn't won the league.
