If £100m was flat out no, can’t see £120m doing it. Why say our stance is a big firm no for two months if it was that close from the beginning.

Looking very likely he's off now. I adored him probably more than any player in my lifetime of watching Spurs but even I am seriously disappointed and pissed off with him the way he has conducted himself.
Sweet, I had HODDLE, Gazza, VDV, Klinsmann, King, Ginola and Son above him adoration wise.. Reason is never once did I believe any of them were giving 100% because it furthered 'THEIR' brand! Always felt Harry was about Harry first and Spurs 2nd. Just My opinion tho. He's Beckham'esk brand wise.

I’ve seen people talk about how accepting a lower offer this season is worth more than accepting the same offer next season as there’s “more value in the market” right now. Can anyone give an example of this as it seems that everyone is just paying the going rate for players? I can’t think of anyone getting a cheap deal.

To be honest city need to pay as their season is done if if they don’t get Kane. No idea why they are playing hardball when they are so desperately need him.
Completely agree mate. Suppose it’s because it’s a lot of money but to them it’s a drop in the ocean. Pep is such a hypocrite saying they won’t pay big for players and then they go and sign Grealish for £100m.

Of course they will pay big for players, they said in their closing statement the key time to invest in the team is when you’ve just won, you cannot be complacent.

They don’t sign a ST and they could easily not win the PL this season and I don’t think they’d get to CL final. With Kane I think they’d be favourites for both so I see why we are playing hardball but I suppose they might be dragging it out because if Kane doesn’t train and kicks up a fuss it will disrupt us to a point that we might think fuck it when better sell him but other than that like you say it makes no sense, they need him and have the money just pay up.

Unless Levy is saying something like £250m or no deal and then obvs they’d be well ok even we won’t be paying that.

Problem: Inter are screwed financially, Harry Kane wants to win a trophy, some want to see a Kane-Martinez partnership and we need a partner for Romero.
Solution: Levy buys Inter and sends Harry and Romero over there for the season. Solves all of the above (Kane-Martinez, Romero-Skriniar). Dier, Sissoko and Winksy will rally the troops back home to keep us above the relegation zone.

It’s more that the Europeans teams need to sell.

No way Atalanta would sell Gollini and Romero if they weren’t in financial trouble.

Same for Inter with lukaku & Hakimi etc. They’re getting market rates for their players but the point is they’re very open/need to sell them because of their financial situation, market rates being paid because many clubs with money are interested.

Next summer the clubs will have recovered cash flow with a season of full stadiums etc.

I would like it of City got there or thereabouts on the fee we want.
We then call Kane in and day the bid is close but not acceptable, Man City are refusing to go higher, and we won't accept the bid as it is.
We then turn around and tell Harry the only way the deal happens is if he hands in an official transfer request and thereby meaning we won't need to give him a 'loyalty' bonus

This… only possible ‘cheap’ ones will be if clubs really are that desperate for cash towards the end of the window
