Speaking to an Italian friend of mine who supports juve & watches most of serie A has been very impressed by Vicario this season, He actually wanted juve to sign him. He said we have signed a top goalkeeper for great price.

Looks like he was given the right name at birth too, In Italian the meaning of the name Guglielmo is: Resolute protector.
Yeah but we all said that when we signed Rodrigo Defendi as a centre back in the Arneson/Jol days….

Strictly from a tactical point, showing other clubs we have alternative targets lined up and are prepared to switch could set us up well this window, sounds like we have some grown ups in charge.

Vicario posted an instagram story at 3am today in what appears to be a taxi with his agent, captioned “#livingthedream 🚨“ so he could have touched down in London already. Definitely with his agent.

Looks more like a nightclub than a taxi

The apparent lack of interest in Raya at 40m from anywhere else is quite telling as to how good he really is I think.

I’d say both players are probably in the 25-30m category and we are therefore underpaying - A benefit of him being at a smaller club who need the money more and keen to do a quick deal.
At this early stage it certainly looks like Brentford have overplayed their hand.

From what I have seen and read, he seems to be a very good keeper. My guess is Brentford thought he was our number one target.

We’ve moved on and at this stage there’s no sign the teams that could/would pay over £30m on a keeper are interested.

Doesn't seem like he's coming for a medical today if he's in a club / partying at 3am. Strange
Strange reply. Why couldn’t he fly later on today? If he is actually planned to arrive today!?

I suspect he may ‘arrive’ today or tomorrow but the medical will be early next week.
