He will be rated as the best left back in the league within the next couple of years, that new contract really protects us. Personally I cannot think of anyone I'd have over him bar Estupinan and perhaps Robertson.

Getting a bit hyperbole time but I'm going to say it, after Bale and Kane he's probably the most 'world class' potential in his position I've seen in recent times.

If we compare him with the best left backs around, he is up there now, let alone for the future.

I know he plays in a different role with Ange, but compared to Robertson and Alphonso Davies he's certainly up there already. I think in a season he'll be up there as number 1.

21 years of age, just incredible. How much is he worth now.... 80m? More?

Potential is off the charts.

He is turning into what everyone thought Mendy at Madrid was supposed to be...

Udogie over Estupinan and Robertson any day off the week.
But agree they would be next best in that position.

Waiting for a Man City bid at some point...sadly.

This team has so much talent when it full strength that it's really hard to pick out who the best is. Udogie Is very close to being in that conversation. His performances this year have been among the most consistent of any player And I hope that he loves it here. Because you know that real madrid and others will come knocking.

Now we've got him tied down to a longer contract it's hard to see City paying the bazillion dollars that Levy would ask for.
My biggest worry is him getting his head turned. I just haven't seen enough interviews with him to have a good feel for what motivates him. Everything points to him being a great lad bit that is conjecture

No chance at any transfer at the moment, but then again Kyle Walker played 6 seasons for us after he established himself in the team.
There'll come a day when Udogie's contract is fragile as well. Just have to build the team to be able to compete, we have the potential to dominate.

I would put Sarr in that same bracket

Argument for why he is the most important player in our team!

This guy is our SA_Gunner lol...

That said when we were first linked with Udogie, I did the usual youtube analysis and typically, when you look at player highlight reels you often have a bit of hesitation as to something that can be seen as negative or give you doubts over how good a young player actually is/can be. But watching his I never got that feeling.

No one is supposed to be that tall, that fast, that strong, that powerful and at the same time be that agile, balanced and light on his feet, He has a great first touch and can turn in either direction quickly. Then we saw him in pre-season and his PL debut against Brentford and he's only gotten better. He's too comfortable at this level.

Things to improve on:
- Defensive awareness and positioning
- Cutting out mental lapses in moments
- Not coasting because the game is easy for him (which he does on occasion, the driving runs vs Brighton and Bournemouth should be his attitude at all times, because he's unstoppable when he wants to be)
- Being more decisive, direct and ruthless when receiving the ball in the final third

As good and talented as a lot of our players are, you just feel there is so much more potential in all of them and we now have the foundations to really build a formidable team and squad.

Just have to hope he doesnt agitate for a move as he rises to the top, as thats when it gets hard to keep any player. Hopefully its like Kane consistently said / warned... if we keep progressing in the right direction, then he'll be happy to stay with us and win something.

Why is it when things are going well some of you instantly think of the worst case scenario? Just enjoy the moment and stop worrying about things that may or may not happen.

I guess if you started supporting spurs about 15 years ago, then it's been largely positive and only ever improved with each cycle. And if you've been spurs since the 60s or earlier then you will have only known a 15 year spell where we weren't very good.

It's just us unfortunate 40 somethings I guess who were unlucky enough to have the Sugar era as our formative spurs years, that makes so many of us jaded and pessimistic

Very fair assessment, but then even younger (ish) fans will have probably witnessed the likes of: arse spraying mayhem vs West Ham to deny us champions league, Chelsea's scabby CL win to rob us of our place, and once we made it to the big time our european final that had the life sucked out of it after 30 seconds.

Would you rather have any pair of full backs in the league over ours? I'm not sure I would.

When you consider what they add to the side, all round game, ability, age, upside potential, attitude, pace, technique etc....I can barely think of a better pair.

That's not to say others don't have good players there, but we're only really talking about Liverpool and City that could hold a candle, and I think I'd take ours.

He has good ball-carrying ability and keeps the ball well for a FB, especially for his age. These are outstanding and rare qualities that wont go unnoticed. Also the physical qualities are there.
However, I agree with another poster above that the mental side of his game requires improvement; concentration, discipline, decision-making etc. This will make him more versatile and tactical flexibility is a much-sought after quality for top sides.
