Like the loan back idea. We don't need him now but Perisic will turn 35 in the 23/24 season so makes sense to line up his successor.
? Perisic will be able to go till 40 and play with fitness like a 30 year old player. Don't see why he can't be in our starting XI for the next 4-5 years as long as he's consistently good and we have a manager like, or preferably still, Conte which will set up with this type of system.

Can he seriously be a WB in the premier league when he’s 40?

Never say never although it does sound ludicrous I must say. Just think its very much possible though.
I think as players (wingers) get older (35+), they will migrate in to the centre where others can do the running. Irrespective of how long he plays on, the fact that Sess and another young player if we sign one will learn so much from him. You don’t continue at the top at 33 without conducting yourself in a professional manner of the pitch. He has as much to offer off the pitch as to on it with regards to mentality

He certainly looks a bit fluffy around the middle here, needs to take care of his body better.

I mean I hope you're right - the man is built like a machine - but we only have a 2 year deal so he might not even stay with us. Or he might lose it a bit in the next two years. None of us truly know how long he can last at the very top level as a wing back.

There's literally only 4 outfield players that are still really good at 35+.. Modric, Ronaldo/Messi (obvious issues regarding that), & Thiago Silva.

Expecting to rely on him for another 4 years would be nuts.

I'm all for signing young players I've never heard of. Would prefer a loan to an English team.

I would like us to start signing players that are 17 - 18 and get them HG if possible. Hopefully with FP that should start happening.

Maybe we’ve moved for him as we‘ve seen Brighton are losing Cucurella and fear they might go in for Udogie as the replacement.
