If someone says "ooh you ought not to have done that one in this day and age Dele" I get it but isn't this just a bit over the top. "Shame in you Dele you foul racist bigot BAN HIM BAN HIM BAN HIM!" Jesus wept where are our priorities?
Seems to be in calling people out?

Who has said "Shame in you Dele you foul racist bigot BAN HIM BAN HIM BAN HIM!"?

Just about every Man City supporter annoyed that Bernardo got a ban... and @yankspurs

I wouldn't be shocked if he got a ban, I think a slap on the wrist is justifiable but it doesn't need to be more than that in my opinion as well as some guidance on why his actions could be considered xenophobic and then move on.

So no one has actually said it then?

So no one not looking for online attention by going OTT has said it then?

Well I don't think it's about people saying it more than the investigation that people are reacting to as presumably that'll lead to the ban as A&C posted the guidelines from the PFA are clear and he's broken them imo.

I've no idea really. I didn't know the question would be followed by conditions. It was probably said by someone with brown hair and not ginger hair too. For all I know a tall person might have said it and not a short one, I simply cannot be sure. Are there any other qualifiers after the fact that you'd like to add? :D

I agree he has broken rules and will likely get punished. But other than the usual attention seekers on Twitter and Yankspurs I haven't seen much of an OTT reaction to this.

My point is that a bunch of attention seekers on Twitter and Yankspurs shouting OTT outrage does not mean the whole world has turned into over sensitive snowflakes who want people killed because someone's feelings have been hurt.

Yeah I agree with that, I think that the two sides of the argument have been that Dele is an idiot and keeps doing stupid shit and should be dropped which conveniently seems to be people using this as a vehicle by people who aren't happy with him for footballing reasons and those that are saying that there's no problem with it and people are too sensitive these days.

I don't think either camp is correct, I don't think people are as outraged as people are making out and we have to appreciate that even if loads of people have made similar jokes that Dele is an ambassador for a football team with a multicultural fan-base and apart of a league which is broadcast all over the world, he has certain responsibilities. I'm adamant his intent was not to be xenophobic but he needs to understand why his actions could be construed as such and unfortunately at the detriment of Spurs I do think a slap on the wrist will be justified, hopefully he learns from it and is mindful of his actions regardless of whether they were private or not because it's no good calling his mate a rat, it's Dele responsibility to make sure his name isn't brought into disrepute. I don't agree with those saying he needs to give his money to causes or he needs to go beyond simply taking whatever the F.A throw at him, taking it on the chin and moving on.

Exactly. So much discussion nowadays but little looking for the truth.

Alli, a professional footballer in the Premier League, has a video of him saying something in breach of Premier League rules. As with other players in the past, Bernardo Silva and Andre Gray, he will likely be punished for this.

As a society we should discuss what we believe is right and wrong but also look for the right level of how wrong it is. So someone making a joke about the Corona virus and looking at an Asian man while making the joke is wrong, imo, but other than telling him to shut the fuck up I wouldn't want a harsher punishment than that.

Someone actually racially abusing someone should be dealt with more harshly, possibly even an arrest.

But no the discussion is "he's a racist", "everyone is an offended snowflake nowadays", bla bla bla.

When our Prime Minister has made actual racist comments; letter box and watermelon smiles without much retort It seems ridiculous to hold a footballer to a higher standard. Not that I think for one moment Dele was being racist

I think we should all aspire to hold ourselves to a higher standard than our prime minister.

Racism from any player must be severely punished.

Dele was an idiot. Does anyone seriously believe he eiether is a racist or had a single iota of racist intent in this stunt?

Give him a slap on the wrist, make sure he thinks next time, but banning a player for being a bit of a dick is ridiculous. Felt exactly the same about the Man City incident a while ago.
The difference was Dele immediately apologised. That's the key for me.
BS tried to defend the joke and failed to release many people were offended.

Can't see how this is racist. Why does everything have to be racist. He mentioned corona virus and pointed out a Chinese guy. Corana virus came from China so how is that racist. Just stupid
I reckon this is were the media should be more responsible.

Did the Coronavirus come from China. Was it not around before....yes there's been an outbreak

For me the main difference was BS put his joke straight onto Twitter. That's just stupid. Whatever the context, and whatever the feeling is between Silva and Mendy becomes kind of irrelevant when he has put it onto a public platform.

From what I can see Alli has made his joke, which has been filmed on presumably a mate's phone, which then found its way onto social media.

So Alli has some level of defence it being of a joke between mates but if that is enough to lessen his punishment I am not sure.

Oh I don’t
I think we should all aspire to hold ourselves to a higher standard than our prime minister.
Oh I don’t disagree, I just think the media lambast footballers more than they do the leaders of the country

He is a thick as shit young footballer who would otherwise be stocking shelves at Asda and doing wheelies in the street on a BMX until he is 45.
I don't expect anything better to be honest.

The real issue and the reason for the hasty apology though is not the social or moral outrage it's the fact that China is prone to cancelling any brand that doesn't bend the knee or strays from the party line. It's a big market and we want a slice of that pie.

I imagine levy hit the roof and hauled him in.
I guess you're monk and never made an error of judgement in your life.

Don't sit there on your high horse anyway he'd of been an international BMX legend
