Just bumping this as it was a link from an Italian journo prior to the window being open. So was he just an opportunistic last minute purchase like many are saying or FP's actual plan from before the window as reported by Gazetta.

We may well have waited to see if something else came to light first but it's more likely he was always in FP's thinking.

Fuck me we'd have Greta Thunberg leading the Levy out protests if he sent a plane from Turin to South America just to pick him up for his medical.
It was probably off the table for a while with the chiesa injury too

Don't worry, I've done some research on the next leg of the tracking.

It looks like there's a few options for the Megabus though, so it depends how quick he's through customs

He definitely does not have the pace to play wingback IMO.

I'm guessing he'll be used on the right of a front 3 and maybe as the most advanced midfielder in a 3-5-2.

Didn't someone say he's a comfortable 10/Striker too - literally anywhere across the front three?

Thanks for that. I remember seeing him at the Euros and thought he looked good but to be fair I know very little about him.

I read he’s best as a 10 and he personally prefers it. So we could move to the inter formation when Erikson played for them?

Yeah I think that would be an option.

I believe he's also played in a front 2 before so could potentially work as a foil for Son/Bergwijn if Kane got injured of needed a rest. Him and Kane as 2 would surely be way too slow, though.

I'd largely expect him to be played ahead of, or in rotation with, Lucas on the right of a front 3, though.

He's faster than Young and Perisic whom Conte used as inverterad LWBs at Inter so I don't see his pace as the issue.
With that said, putting him there would still be putting a square peg in a round hole.

He's been at his best by far as a RW and second striker/trequartista in Parmas 19/20 counter-attacking side. He also plays up top for the NT and Juve at times.
In theory he could drop down deep instead of Kane to allow him more and better chances if we play 3-5-2 and RW in the 3-4-3.

Think he'll be a natural fit at RW in Conte's formation, he wants to cut inside anyway so having the wing-back overlapping him on the outside will work well and keep him from getting too isolated out on the touchline.

I won't read too much into the fact that he's a Juve cast off - sometimes things just don't go smoothly when young players join a big club early in their career and with Vlahovic coming in then Juve have to raise funds.

However I am concerned that he looks slow, one-footed and with pretty underwhelming stats for a forward player in a league where attacking players have struggled in almost cases over the past 20 odd years when transferring to the Premier League - Salah being the only real exception.

He reminds me a bit of Lamela but with a larger physique and not quite as quick feet - a hardworking player that will show flashes of brilliance but not really good or consistent enough to become top class. Lamela I'll remind you all once scored 15 league goals in a Serie A season. Perhaps Kulu will be the player he could have been without the injuries, and Conte is the coach to unlock the talent we're getting. But we'll see...

He's far from slow...

And some of the skill he demonstrates clearly shows he's capable with both feet, albeit his left foot is definitely his predominant one.

I wouldn't agree with the Lamela comparison either, don't think they're remotely similar.

I loved Lamela's passion and tenacity but he was running down blind alleys half the time and wouldn't release the ball frequently. His decision making was definitely questionable, but of course capable of some real skill.

This guy is stronger, more direct and all round more purposeful with his attacking play.

I think he'll link superbly with Kane and Son.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Not sure why the term cast off is being used, if we are going to do that we might as well say Salah and KDB are Chelsea cast offs as Juve and Chelsea operate similar models of stockpiling players.

Romero, Demiral, Cancelo, Bonnuci, Coman were all deemed surplus to requirements at one stage over the last few years by Juve.

They’ve also purchased Higuian for 80 million, De Ligt for 75 who was over priced at that stage.
Christ, they even paid money for Szczesney!

They’ve made some howlers of the years and just because they’re willing to let Kulu and Rodrigo leave, doesn’t neciessarily mean they’re poor players. I’m excited to see what they can bring.

Exactly.

People need to actually wait and watch the player before jumping to lazy conclusions.
