"We" or the incompetent fraud of a DOF who was only doing his Juve mates a favour?

Not aimed at you btw, just pointing out there were quite a few that showed nothing but disdain for Paratici. Maybe it's time they considered he might actually really know what he's doing, and give him and AC a bit more credit when it comes to us signing players even when they can't see the initial benefit.
I don't think that was misguided though, his last couple of years at Juve were very questionable in terms of the players brought in.

How much of Bentancur and Kulusevski being great for us is down to Conte?

Romero is an exception, he's been a class above from the first time I've seen him play in Italy.

Honestly - not much.

Both stepped in almost immediately after signing (Kulusevski took slightly longer) - which suggests they had the right skills/attributes without needing a long bedding in period with Conte's tactics.

If you don't think Conte improved them massively then you clearly don't get the pull, influence and coaching someone like Conte brings.

They weren't bad players before I'm not saying that but check the Bentancur and Kulu threads when we were originally linked with them and read the majority of the comments.

Conte will improve any player with the right attitude. Hence why we only buy players now with the right attitude

Are there many players that could make a compilation this good with barely 6 months of football playing time at a new club? Unreal player.

People will talk about his creativity, shooting and his passing....

However his interceptions and nicking the ball off opponents are immense. Also he rolls players for fun. I'd comfortably put him in cm and I think he'd do fine.

He has so many strings to his bow. He is probably the most multi talented footballer I've seen since Kane. Different but just as effective.

It's like having two kanes on the pitch, he's that good.

Sorry - but its nothing but hyperbole to suggest that Conte has improved them "massively".

Conte is a great coach. He puts players in a position to succeed.

They hit the ground running in this system because they are good players fit for the system. It wasn't because they had months of coaching under Conte. Do you think Conte turned Kane or Son into a WC players? Or, are they simply world class players who fit well within the system?

Oh, and I learned a long time ago not to trust the player evaluations of the SC collective - turns out we are not very good at it...

The problems with the sc player evaluations is the never ending narratives.

Once one has stuck, people parrot them out on a consistent basis. Doesn't matter if there based in fantasy.

The Conte improving players narrative is so over exaggerated it beggars belief. If he was so good at it, we wouldn't have signed about 10 first team players. We'd just get him in and live with ndombele, lo Celso, Dele etc..

He trains players for specific positions and a lot of the times they need time to adapt. The reason they adapt is because they are good fucking players.

Also we have been lucky that certain players are more suited to Contes formation. Davies, Doherty and dier all spring to mind.

Davies was always a bit pedestrian to be a modern day attacking full back, but not big or fast enough to play in a CB 2. Being on the left of a three suits him perfectly and plays to his strengths.

Doherty was a cracking right wing back for wolves, but he never played there for spurs until Conte. Even then he started playing alongside Lucas and Davinson, which would be difficult for any player. Now he's playing around technically talented players he's back to his wolves form (until the injury).

Dier was already our best performer under Nuno in a 2, no suprise he has adapted to a 3 so well, he has all the attributes needed to play that position.

I'm sure he does improve players, though not to the extent people say on here, but I think the better description would be that he is good at identifying which players can play in his system.

Okay massively was a over statement.

I agree with you post, but I do think Conte has improved them both In the sense he's brought the best out of them atleast tactically.

Making a player better on the ball isn't the only way to prove a player. Sometimes the player is already technically gifted like these 2 and just need so positional and tactical guidance to bring out their full potential.

I literally said this in my post

I dont think anyone believes Conte will improve any and every player. But with the right mindset he certainly will.

I actually think that we are so used to seeing Kane and son doing ridiculous things on the pitch that we don't fully appreciate how good kulu is. If you remember early martial at utd he was amazing, kulu has had that sort of impact. The difference is that he has probably had more amazing moments in 6 months than martial has in 6 years.

If he continues to develop he is going to be an elite level player by the end of this season.

Kulu is an amazing talent

He’s like when you make a character in your image on FIFA and crank all the attributes to 99.
That's ridiculous in so few games. He set up 4 goals just for son! I also love the shape he gets on his crosses and while he is very one sided he is very capable with his right foot.

I'd love to hear a rousing Kuuuuullllluuu (rather like the big bass Zuuuulllluu in the film, Zulu) whenever he gets the ball. Those who are familiar with Rooooooooooooottttttttttt will know what I mean.

Keep saying it but he is ridiculously intelligent for someone so young. He reads the game so well.

The Swedish Pavel Nedved is a good shout. You can see a ton of similarities.

Stop me if I'm off here, but why wouldn't Deki take our free kicks?

Nedved: "I don't think I am that great technically. My game is simple; there are no secrets to it, just work and more work."

Kulusevski: "It’s football, you want to help a good team, you want to play, enjoy, work hard and have fun. It’s amazing, it's really amazing to have pain everywhere. I think it’s a fantastic thing to have you know? I love to work hard because everything in life comes from working hard. It’s a little bit difficult, of course, nothing is easy, but this is what you have to do to become a champion."

Sounds like Kulusevski and him cut from the same cloth. Nothing immediately dazzling or shiny to the eye but amazing work ethic and the desire to be the best.
