I’d be interested to see him play defensive midfield in the occasional game now we have three good centre backs.

He’s so comfortable on the ball and I could see him as a better option than Skipp or Hojbjerg.

Will probably never happen but he’s such a good footballer I bet he could do it.

I think it's too late really to try that now. We will have Sarr back from Saturday and barring any injuries it will be Sarr, Bentancur and Maddison. At least until Bissouma returns and he might get in there. The timing has been a bit weird, we've been without any centre backs for a bit and then by the time we got Dragusin 2 are back. Also factor in the tournaments are well underway the time to try Romero in midfield has kind of gone now. You could do it tonight but I don't think we would experiment in this one and it would be pointless with Sarr back next game anyway.

Personally wouldn't want to see him as a DM at all. I think now that we finally have 3 decent CB's, we need to utilise the luxury of keeping one of them fresh and available.

I actually think at times he moves the ball a little too slowly, but it's hard to be overly critical of that without seeing the whole pitch and what is actually in front of him.

I’m not really keen on the idea of playing this defender in midfield, or that midfielder in defence etc. It usually sounds better in theory than it turns out in reality. Anyway, I think some of what makes Romero stand out as a great centre back wouldn’t translate so well into the DM role.

God no, he’s a CB. I’d rather he developed his skills to stay on the pitch rather than try a different position

I fucking love this guy. He was excellent tonight. I was anxious he might take Maupay’s bait but either Maupay was too obvious or Cuti is starting to eradicate that from his game… hopefully the latter.

It's the armband. He knows he's the leader and has to be the example on the pitch

His second half performance was probably his best half for us. I thought he was excellent.
He was great. Someone else has mentioned his headers but about 5 minutes from time, they cutting through attacking midfield, looking dangerous and bam - he comes from nowhere, steals it super cleanly and you can see their whole body language deflating.

We know the issues he sometimes brings, but when he’s on it he’s a brilliant player

“Things didn’t go well at all [last year] with . . . we all know who our manager was. "

"But thankfully now we have another gaffer and we renovated our team. This shows the club is doing things the right way. They brought in a competent manager and added the right players to our squad."

“We lost Kane, who is the best striker in the world. Everyone knows he is but, maybe, he needs to win a trophy to put that debate to rest. But he’s gone now and we are focusing on ourselves as we want to keep improving."

“To win trophies you need to tick off many boxes; having the right manager and players is just not enough.

"We need time and patience to win stuff, or at least to compete with teams like Manchester City and Liverpool who are out on their own in the Premier League."

“They are the teams to beat but more of the same from our club and chairman, who are laying the foundations, and we’ll push them hard one day. Even if we’re not yet ready to win this season, we’re on the right track and just need to keep it going.”

“In this moment, Micky is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League.

“But marketing plays a big part in how people see you here — that’s why he is not spoken about enough. He doesn’t get any publicity and is not built up at all."

“But he’s doing so well and we hope that he can continue. I am so happy for him. He’s young, hungry and wants to get to the next level. He has a great career ahead.”
