his red card today.... i admit.... i would have done the same thing and dived in. he needed to win the ball. it was a dangerous area.

unlucky.

Its a game of perception now with VAR
Romero red was not for the Enzo action. It was a cummulative effect of his stupid kickout at Colwill which resulted in a 50-50 go against him.

I said that…after that incident i just thought something would happen and it did.

I have no issue with it as it’s how he plays, just wish he could learn a bit from it.

what I did think though is it shows we don’t have a leader on the pitch. Sonny is great but he too gets carried away. We needed a calm head….we didn’t have one
That calm head was Kane.
You can't have everything. Calmness and passion beyond your own cause.

In my view, he did nothing wrong on the tackle. Won the ball clean. His follow through was unfortunate, but not intended. His knee was already planted on the ground, there was no way he could side foot clear the ball ,with the power that was required in such a situation, and not have his leg on that position. Short of breaking his ankle such that his studs point downwards. It is just not physically possible. It was a 50-50 and the nature of 50-50s is that the one late to the ball by milliseconds tends to get legs flying into em. Unfortunate, but it’s the nature of the game. A game for men. Or at least it was.

Even if it were to be pulled back. And regardless of the decision to award a yellow or red for dangerous play. There was no foul committed. He legally won the ball 100%. So shldnt it be like an indirect free kick in the box then? Not a penalty.

I’m just flabbergasted at all the injustice I saw in the game. Don’t get me started on the offsides. Both son’s and caicedo’s goals shld hv stood imo. It was too close a call and the cameras can’t get 100% accuracy for offsides. They had to switch the camera angle on son’s goal before they could call it offside. There needs to be a margin of error factored in such that both son’s and caicedo’s disallows goals wld hv been legal.

And if Caicedo’s goal had been given, I don’t think they wld hv scrutinised the Romero incident so incisively such that he gets sent off. So much wrong with VAR.

Sorry for the rant. Had to get it off my chest.

Whether you like it or not, or compare me being a Chelsea or Arsenal fan, I will stick by my views.

Its not the red offsense of him fouling Enzo I am pissed about.

Its Romero, kicking out Collwill for no apparent reason. NO APPARENT REASON.

This is not a vice captain should do or a responsible PL level player should do.

I get it, he is world class talent - but doesnt matter to me, when he has no intention to play the game in usual sense. He rather wants a fight than play the ball.
I get that you are pissed, I'm not happy with him either, including the Colwill incident.

It's when you blame Romero for Udogie doing something dumb and two of our players getting injured is when it becomes silly. Bissouma let us down against Luton but we were able to stay disciplined and organised and avoided a mid-game injury crisis.

Romero is an aggressive player and we reap so many benefits from his playing style that accepting the odd red card is just part of the risk/reward process. He's averaging less than one red card in the league per season, with this being his second sending off having got two yellows last season in our home win against City.

He's 1 of 25 players to be sent of this season, and few, if any of those, has had a better season than him.

I would say this as cause & effect.

You had Liverpool & Arsenal game where Udogie got early yellows but did well because he only had his job to focus on and had VDV helping him all the way through.

Now, today, had Romero not been sent off, others dont have to over think or over run. VDV doesnt stretch much knowing there is cover.

Udogie doesnt loose his cool had VDV been talking to him.

Having one problem amplified others. Ofcourse , Romero wouldnt know it before hand. But he should know today of how shit things can become

As for as Bissouma, it was Luton not Chelsea. This was a derby

I love him and he would walk into any side in the world hes that good. couple of things to iron out, but it took ramos a while too and he done alright 👍 also sky and neville were over the moon when martinez was kicking the shit out of people, wierd......oh yeah and could he have even possibly got any more of the ball ? I don't think he could personally not saying def not a red but he got the ball entirely is all. Neville is reffing our games now the refs need to tell them all to get ducked scrap var and just get on with it.

it was a straight red for the tackle. each case should be taken separately. i don't think cumulative comes in for a red card, especially not a straight red.

I do feel we can appeal it. giving away the pen is already a punishment, so a yellow card is in order as he was reckless, not violent. he was looking to win the ball, not take the player.

actually... if it gets over turn... then #replay

I know this won't be popular but we need to start looking for a replacement. He can't be relied upon.
Can’t agree, he has been fantastic for the first ten games and easily among the elite CBs. I struggle to see how he could clear that ball with any force without following through into Enzo. wouldn’t trade him for any CB in EPL.

Doesn't help much if you're good for ten games and then out for four, that's something he really needs to work with, very disappointed.

Elite CBs shouldn't get stupid red cards

Worst part was we had been in total control, not like we were 3 down and he just wanted to smash Into someone , he lost the ball twice , went marauding up the pitch to smash into someone, this was the worst of last seasons Romero and he needs to sort this out .

Just need to keep in mind that he was falling down during the challenge, so there was nothing he could do about the follow through IMO
