Watching the penalty again and he has to stay on his feet there. There is absolutely no reason to dive in. He needs to cut that out of his game asap. Get coached to stay on his feet and it will improve him a lot in my opinion.

I wouldnt blame him too much for that but Romero is rash and I think we may need to accept it. He was excellent yesterday and is clearly going to be a very very good defender alongside Dier.

I did laugh when others thought it wasnt a penalty - it clearly was - his arm started off high and came down across his face and body... However the point the ball hit his arm, his body wasnt bigger so I guess there is that argument too.

I guess he will cut these out as the season goes on and he gets a sustained run of games etc

haha .. he‘s a proper fucker

Seen very little mention of Benatncur's first time round the corner over the top pass that puts Kulu in for our third.
none of our other CM options would even attempt that pass.

Only problem i have with the Pen is that we had two similar incidents (in other premiership games) yesterday where the ball clearly struck the arm in "unnatural" positions and neither were given after VAR checks. So there is still inconsistency in applying the rules.
I have no problem with him diving in there as he felt that was the best/only way to get the block in. for all we know if he doesn't go for it like that it's a goal anyway.

There's clearly plenty on here who are better and more experienced defenders than Christian Romero.?

That clearance in the last minute was world class

Bernardo was back post to make it 3-3

Was insane when you consider 7 minutes earlier he gave away pen and confidence was low

Most defenders would have just let that go past them and hope for the best

So Romero goes insane and Sess jumps on the coaching staff.

Meanwhile, Dier strolls to touch for a bottle of water

I think Dier was showing some mature professionalism there, straight over to get tactical advice and gets the staff putting bottles on the pitch to delay any potential quick restart. Think he's really grown up over the last couple of years.

Yep. Kulu doesn't join in the celebrations, then really late does. Bit odd lol

I love his shithousery. Normally I watch other teams with these players and I want to harm them. Its nice having it on your side

You know we have a top player when we fear he will leave. We need more or those
If he does, it’ll be for a fee similar to VVD/Maguire. Plus we will confirm the option to buy and will be on a long term contract.

I'm still none the wiser.
Clutch players are defined by consistently performing well when there's a lot on the line. They thrive in situations where the pressure is high and the consequences of their performance are great. Hitting a shot when your team is winning by double digits is easier than hitting a game-winning shot at the buzzer.
