Ally Gold reported that they are leaving early so they would be back in time for Chelsea.
However if they have to quarantine for 10 days at a hotel they are no chance to get up to speed.
Surely they wouldn’t let them leave without confidence they can isolate at the lodge

I can understand their desire to play for their country, especially with the World Cup coming up soon, but if I had just joined a club and the player in my position was in great form, I’m not sure I’d want to miss any chances to take his place in the team.

This isn’t a great situation, but for someone who was heralded as a game changer for us, it’s disappointing that we won’t be seeing him integrate into the first team until probably Christmas at the earliest.

Christmas? o_O

The post you rated creative that I was referring to didn’t mention him not playing till Christmas, it’s ok if you didn’t know about the October break, no one knows everything ?.

The guy is likely going to miss 30 days of training and matches for us between now and Christmas. It’s not guesswork to suggest that he’s going to have a hard time making an impact for us. Defensive units thrive on stability of personnel. I can’t see Nuno chopping and changing the defence to integrate him.

I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t make more than a handful of premier league appearances before Christmas.

This will teach my for posting smart arsed comments and gifs before finishing a thread.

Very well made point! ?

As if I'll ever stop making smart arsed comments & posting gifs :finger:

Sounds crazy, but with international breaks in September, October and November, with him missing ten days after every break, his integration into the team is going to be massively disrupted.

Yeah we're fucked mate (honestly do think that as things stand).

I think we will be ok if Sanchez doesn’t travel (no reports that he will yet), and maintains his form. We still have Rodon to get fit, and Tanganga can play cb too. Just a shame our exciting new signing isn’t really going to make a game changing impact this season.

The international federations should be paying their wages from the day they travel until 10 days after their quarantine period ends i.e. 5 weeks. That is how long Romero, Lo Celso and Sanchez will beunavailable to us. That’s going to cost them about £2M.

Shocker is that Romero is fully vaccinated, so sucks that he has to quarantine in a govt. hotel at the airport for 10 days upon return.

All players should be vaccinated. Given the huge sums of money involved, clubs cannot afford to get Covid outbreaks in their teams. Just look at Arsenals disrupted start to the season. The PL and FIFA should make it mandatory.

They can quarantine at the training ground and train there indoors I think! Similar to what Kane did

Reading Ally Gold's article - no. They have to stay in a government hotel for 10 days and their movements are severely restricted. This might change though.

The government regulations state: "There you will be spending the next 10 days in your room. Every room has a television and wifi and facilities to make tea and coffee. The ensuite bathroom will already be equipped with basic toiletries. Hotel staff will not enter the room while you are staying, and so there will be some disposable cleaning products available. There will be a laundry service if you need to have clothes washed.

They can't if coming from a red list country. They have to quarantine in a gov approved hotel and are not allowed to leave their room for exercise.

I believe Romero is vaccinated.

Given that Mina already pulled out of national team duty, I think it’s unlikely Sanchez would pull out also - and leave the national team short-handed for WC qualifying.

The thinking is that there are vaccine resistant variants in these countries, so being fully vaccinated offers less protection than you might expect. It is logical to enforce quarantine for all.

But the rule of thumb with Boris and his stooges is everything they say is wrong. The country most likely to brew up a new resistant variant is one that has high vaccination levels and is actively encouraging its spread = our lovely plague island. It is our country that should be red listed.

Incorrect. They need ot go to whatever the nearest hotel to the airport is that is govt approved and will not be allowed ot leave the room for 10 days. They will lose fitness and have a really crappy 10 days. I hope they think it is worth it.

EDIT - Just seen the Croatia links - interesting loophole.
