It was 2x10+1
Not divide
Oh yeah, right. Even less likely that's the contract length then. :)

It does seem strange if it's a loan though. The clubs have been negotiating a fee with bonuses for weeks... maybe the whole thing was a charade and it *is* a loan which we were trying to keep quiet and Atalanta have let the cat out of the bag.

True but we would still have to negotiate the option just as intensely so I guess it doesn’t change much? God knows!

Could be due to Atalanta only signing him today, and registration of a player can't change again that quickly.

So we loan him for a season and then buy him for the fee we have agreed with them.

Romero signs a contract for his loan and extra 5 years (if it's 6 years)
Could be why it wasn't done in a day like some expected...

Did anyone post this?

There's plenty to like about Romero'
South American football expert Tim Vickery:

"Centre-back has been a real problem position for Argentina for years and just since the start of June when he first played, Cristian Romero has been greeted as the saviour. Even with just five caps, he's now the first defender on the team sheet for Argentina.

"He had a few injuries during the Copa America and only played three games, but Argentina didn't concede in those three games and had a splendid season at Atlanta, who are an attacking club. Their defence was often exposed but he came through that very well.

"He's combative - sometimes a little too combative - he's 23 so there's a lot of football ahead of him. Tottenham may be paying a little over the odds for him, but there's plenty to like about him. He's a real fighter."

That seems to be the general consensus. If he mature’s, smartens up & calms down a bit then it sounds like we have a good player on our hands.
Doubt he will be a bad signing. Either decent 7/10 player or a good 8-9/10 player.

You can, however you can’t be registered in 3 different teams in the same season so doesn’t apply here
Registered to Juve, Atlanta and now Spurs? So does that apply then? Don't mind me, not sure of the rules.

He wouldn’t have been registered with Juventus because he was at Atalanta so wouldn’t have been able to play anyway. So in theory he would only be registered with Atalanta and now with us, although I think it gets wiped at the end in season and starts again.
