So he shares info of him slaughtering the clubs business.....from the club.

It would be illegal for him to have copies.Fabio drew up the loan/option to buy deal with Atalanta. I bet he's searching through his copies of that documentation for loopholes at this very moment.
We need to decide if we want to be a serious club or not. We always seems to go for the deals that are too 'difficult' until another club comes in for him. Sometimes to progress, you have to overpay. We are not talking like Romero is just an up and coming defender who had half a season under his belt, he is Serie A's defender of the year and just won the Copa America. This guy will be our starting CB for years to come.
Yeah, we don't have to spend big for Romero but can't complain if the likes of Harry wants to leave when we sign a bang average defender and the likes of Dier and Sanchez still starting.
Even if you blow the majority of the budget on one big CB, that's normally enough to transform a backline. We seen it happened numerous of times.
Yeah we might save money by going for other targets but at what long term cost?
I doubt that Atlanta have moved any goalposts.... We hear this statement a lot when it comes to expensive signings that we try to make. More likely is that Atlanta's goalposts have always been set at the same level and our bids move gradually closer to those set goalposts. Of course there will also always be a trade off between total fee and how much is guaranteed and how much in bonuses along with the length of time tht we pay the fee over... Us offering £10m up front, £5m a season for the next 4 seasons and £5m more in any of the next 4 seasons that we qualify for the CL, plus a £5m bonus if we win the PL could technically be classed as £55m bid, though Atalanta will see it as a £10m bid with maybe another £10m coming their way if they are very lucky. But what are you suggesting?
That we keep playing Atalanta's game?
That we keep increasing our bid by £5m or £10m every time Atalanta move the goalposts?
That we end up massively overpaying and blow our entire transfer budget?
All that has happened is that we have apparently reached the point at which Spurs will not bend any further. It doesn't mean that the deal is off. It just means that the ball is back in Atalanta's court.
I can understand those wanting us to overpay to get this lad (or whomever else it might be) in, but it doesn't seem as if we're in that type of scenario where the price is the price and we're trying to lowball someone. If there is any truth to Atalanta moving the goalposts after we match their prices, then where does it stop?
We match their current ask and they up it again by 5-10. By how much should we overpay on our valuation if they keep going? 100m? There's a limit in funds and patience and maybe we're at it.
Yours is an interesting theory but based on what information is coming in from a variety of sources I will respectfully decline to agree with it.I doubt that Atlanta have moved any goalposts.... @andyp8080 - you may think that is spam but you are only allowed to take 'what is in your head' when you leave a company. This is enforced very stringently when you're talking about Managing Director level roles. It would be illegal for him to have copies.

If Atalanta are reading some of the posts in here about how we must buy him no matter what the cost then the price has just hit €80m at leastThe whole football world knows we need CBs. Quite likely that clubs will try and grind more money out of us for them.
So at what point do you tell Atalanta "enough is enough" ?? do you really think that Spurs success next season rests entirely on this player's shoulders ?. There simply has to be a cut off point otherwise these sort of negotiations just drag on and on and we end up on the last day of the window scraping the bargain barrel again. A few weeks ago the name Romero meant nothing, now suddenly he is destined to be the saviour of our 21/22 season. Please let's not get too carried away with this and try to see it for more than it actually is.
Perhaps we value him at 40m but went to 50m because of this reason above but we won’t go to 60m because we don’t think that’s a good deal? All if buts and maybes but we don’t know what Fabio thinks is a good priceLove how this has been contradicted within Paratici’s first month View attachment 92916
