"while all our rivals are strengthening" - don't care what they won last season, it's just not true

I don't know what reports did you read, but I'm pretty sure Romero to Spurs is closer than Kounde to Chelsea and Grealish to City.

This one aged well.... :D

The manager hunt has shredded everyone's nerves.
To be fair I totally acknowledge the negativity and understand it's existence but refuse to accept it particularly when so much seems to be happening in and around the club which is of a positive fashion. If this isn't a time to be optimistic then there never will be but we also have to be realistic about where we are on the transfer negotiating ladder in the Premier League at present.

I love quotes (collecting quotations is a huge hobby of mine) and I think this one perfectly sums up our current status regarding the future.
It's attributed to Francis of Assisi :

Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Already been said, but he is on land to Atlanta for another season AND they have an option to buy at an agreed price.

They are in no hurry to buy/sell him cut price, when they know they can take up the option and then sell him for a much higher price at the end of next season.

Our offer is falling short, but I guess that's the premium of having cash NOW versus cash in 1 year's time.

To add: Romero can always refuse to join them at the end of next season, unless he himself has already signed a precontract ??

Depends on if there’s an automatic buy option in the loan agreement, or whether Romero has any say in the matter in 2022.

If he does then buyers could present offers to Juve and Atalanta and play them off against each team other.

Or Juve tempt him to turn them down with a new contract.

They could end up with £0.

Ballsy move to walk away from 50m euros in a pandemic.

I think part of the reason people get so frustrated and knee-jerk is a) we have been burned before and badly b) other teams ‘seem’ to just say they want someone and get it all tied up without it regularly being some massive kerfuffle in the press.

and the problem with both these things is the press know they are onto a winner with our transfers so absolutely milk it out for click bait. We can always be counted on for a reaction.

A vicious cycle for Spurs fans

He follows Collini, Foyth & Sandro on IG. Surely that means he’s signing for Spurs. He’s also sponsored by Nike. Sure they’ll throw a few quid in the pot? #justsaying

We got Bryan Gil pretty quickly, no?

Also City taking a while for Grealish, Varane taken ages for United, Sancho likewise. White hasn't been signed by Arsenal yet has he?

But it happens to all clubs. Arsenal were linked with White over a month ago. Liverpool were linked with Kounate since January, man utd with varane for a month. Man City with…..you get my drift.

Go on to any other club’s forum or twittersphere - even Man City - and you will find exactly the same sorts of complaints as you see on here.

It’s just that we have little interest in their transfer sagas so the first time we pay any attention to them, they are practically done. It therefore seems as though everything went smoothly and quickly when the likely truth is anything but.

True although my husband is Chelsea and there definitely seems to be less of a roller coaster there.
