Better than Toby and Jan? Big call.
Yeh it’s a great conversation though isn’t it? How great does it feel to have conversations about this group vs. the Walker-Toby-Jan-Rose back line? It’s been such a long time since we’ve had a back line that has even looked semi-capable and this one looks like it has all the makings of being elite. Cuti is the leader at the back and has been an absolute boss this year. As long as we never play back foot, passive defending again (which is definitely not Romero’s strength) then I think he can be up there in that conversation.

Ange has done so much right it’s a bit ridiculous really, but his choice of the two vice captains was truly inspired.

Isn't Vicario also a vice captain now? Another who has been great. Love the Serie A link between Vicario, Udogie and Romero. I just hope we keep our eyes on that league with the new DOF because it's been a gold mine for us of late.

He's not the type to go off for a bit of discomfort. Looks like he started the 2nd half thinking it might be OK and asked to be taken off a minute later. Definitely a concern.

Just to think we have another one to look forward to next month! These international ‘breaks’ are relentless! The one upside is that Phillips would’ve been getting plenty of training these past couple of weeks.

We're in trouble if either Mickey or Romero are out for even a short amount of time. How have we only got 3 senior CBs, and one of them is Dier?? We got a lot right regarding our squad this summer but this was one big issue that needed addressing. Don't necessarily think getting rid of Sanchez was wrong because if we finally had a taker we had to let him go but another defender, even on a short deal, should have been a priority.
