The Lo Celso injury did nor help at all. If he'd have started more then I imagine Eriksen would have been shunted, well that's what I would have expected.

If we reach December and Eriksen is still starting games ahead of Lo Celso/Ndom then Poch is taking the biscuit.

Also the Lamela injury, can't imagine Eriksen would have started had Lamela not been injured, I reckon Poch didn't want to feed Lo Celso to the wolves vs Liverpool but wanted to maintain a similar shape. Think he needed to be braver in this scenario especially at HT.

Well i don't remember the game, but one of the last 4 games. He didn't start Lamela when he was fit but started Eriksen instead. Bayern was it?

So Lamela isn't still favored by Poch, so I don't think he would have started.

I actually think Poch loves Lamela and always has.

But with his injury problems we essentially have to wrap him in cotton wool as he is one too many games away from another hip injury - which may be why Eriksen is still being picked.

Apart from the world class 50 yard cross field pass to Son in the first half which set up what could/should have taken us 2 up you mean of course, which not another player in our squad would be able to make.

I remember that pass. That was about the only he good thing he did the entire game.

No one else in our squad can make that pass? Really?!? You sure about that?!?

Wasn't that chance straight from a Gazzaniga punt up the pitch??

Nope. Poch could have started Lucas, Lo Celso or Ndombele and moved Dele into the front 3 after Lamela picked up the injury late week. All would have been far better options. The fact he didnt tells you Eriksen was always starting that match and Lamela was dropping out like Jan, Davies and Ndombele.

A take on why Madrid won’t be going for him. He’s too old!

Madrid also have a ton of #10s, I see Barca a much more likely scenario. Rakitic likely leaving and I'm sure they'll want a play maker to replace him. Plus with how much they spend on transfers I'm sure they'd like a free to help out.

I mean that and Odegaard looks fucking ready.

I must admit it's been quite interesting watch everybody slowly realise he hasn't been performing well for a very long time now. Every time somebody dared to say he's not played well there was a tone in the responses that people didn't understand football if they didn't appreciate his understated brilliance. Now though it seems almost universally accepted that what we've over the past at least 10 months or so is a player who hasn't been at it. I won't be shocked to see him back at his best when he makes his new move though.

They're not going be in a position to have just offloaded Coutinho and then replace him with Eriksen.

I could understand if he was doing a Ramsey and being one of the teams best players before leaving or even look like he’s putting in the effort but what is leaving me perplexed is why he’s still being selected when he’s stinking out the place and looks half arsed.

Poch has lost the ability to see whose having a bad game.
Sunday was a prime example.
How anyone could watch that first half and not think we need to make a change is frankly mind boggling. To leave it so late os incompetence.

It is more amplified or obvious now but Poch has never been brilliant at using his subs consistently nor has he ever been the best reactive manager. I think he is better than he used to be for sure though which should be born in mind.

I see this a lot and its true , but I always think back to CL final . We had the usual ineffective Eriksen ,looking half-arsed as usual

...But he couldn't have been . In CL final Eriksen deliberately playing less than full on ?...actually in shopwindow Madrid ?

Can't be . This all suggests to me that he has genuinely lost form rather than just aint trying..

There’s been periods of every season that he’s been here where he’s looked terrible and half arsed. Now it’s just all the time. A very strange player.

He was known as very streaky at Ajax although when good he was brilliant. I think that is why other big clubs didn't take the oppuruntiy to sign him and we got him for a seemingly mediocre fee.
