The most telling part of this video is the stiff arm directly to the CH. Granted, Portugal isn’t known for its defending or goal keeping, seems like a physically strong player which I think is one of the more important requirements. Jose has been most successful with big strong CF/ST.

Where I live there is a huge Portuguese community great people love their footie worked with him for 6 yrs.
Also for 6 yrs had to listen to his utter shit about benfica being bigger and better than spurs

As for me I had never heard of this player but judging by all the doom reactions I thought he might be a duffer so I called him and asked.

I’ve only watched a couple Benfica CL matches (I think in the fall I don’t remember them in the knockout stages) but I do remember this guy vs Leipzig. He’s a beast physically, like 6’4” and fast with long strides. Runs all day and presses really hard which I’m sure José loves. He scored vs Leipzig on a breakaway I remember. Very one footed though which I don’t like in a striker at all.

This is certainly a different one, he has a profile like Haaland or Lukaku (definitely a step below both) and backed it up with production too. He’ll definitely frustrate with a heavy first touch but there’s a player in there. Reminds me a lot of Haller who West Ham just bought.

Yeah , if it’s between this guy or Daka/Edouard for 30m+ we really need to re-evaluate as I don’t know if he warrants such a high fee. Hopeful Mendes would cut us a deal though which is why this interest exists.

With people saying they prefer eduoard etc, he plays in the Scottish league. Let’s be real the SPL is perhaps one of the worst professional leagues now in Europe for quality. But then going ahead and saying they don’t want Vinicius because he plays in a second rate league?! I’m not having a pop at anyone I’m just saying, we’ve not seen a lot about this guy but from comments from people in Portugal he seems a good player. If we can do a Loan with option then is that really that bad? I’m all for it especially if we managed to get bale as well. Would be a serious force.

I wonder how many people here would’ve been happy with us signing a 27 year old Raul Jiminez from Benfica in 2018 off the back of scoring 18 goals in 80 games across 3 seasons, with him having failed at Athletico Madrid already.

This guy at 25 scored at a superb rate last season, as he did in his only previous season in the Portuguese top flight, seems comfortable on the ball from the videos, quick, powerful, tall, and having previous been scouted by and brought to Napoli as a young age, almost definitely has a high ceiling.

I’m genuinely baffled how people are more excited by links to a guy doing it in Austria or Scotland but not Portugal, especially given how successful players from that league have been in recent years.

Underwhelming to say the least, how many of the big boys have chased this guy?? and no caps for his country....surely we can do better!. Personally wanted Daka or the Celtic boy, explosive talents.
