On the positive side, several of the Blackburn fans are incandescent that the price seems to be £2m. They believe him to be worth much more.

On the other hand, one of them wrote

"I don't see the same quality in Ash as I did in Phil Jones many years ago, but I might be wrong"

:cautious:

:shifty:

The pre injured Phil Jones was massively rated by Ferguson and he was desperate to sign him so quite a high bar at the same age. I suspect we will loan out straight away, might as well send him back to Blackburn?

This is what we should be doing regarding our succession planing having talented youngsters as 3rd or 4th choice and as a part of the squad so they are ready to step up when needed. Would be extremely happy to have Romero, Tapsoba VDV and Phillips as our 4 CB's. Why have Dier as 4th choice when you can groom the future.

I use Twitter a lot, especially for football but sometimes I feel like I’m not actually on ‘Spurs Twitter’.

My mute button must be working absolute wonders!

Nice work. Signing prospects out of nowhere.

Some will have you believe that with a tour underway, nothing else is going on at the club. 👏🏼

Yep, all for this kind of signing and it's what we should be doing all the time.

Just remembered we sold Dilan Markanday to Blackburn, hope he's doing well. Anyway, excited about Ash Phillips, seems like he has all the raw attributes to become a really good CB.
He got a really bad injury just after he joined and never really got back into the team, spent some time on loan to Aberdeen and played 2 or 3 games for them.

He's also 2 months younger than Alfie Dorrington who we also have high hopes for.
Dorrington is def highly rated. Having both him and Philips is a great sign IMHO, as long as we manage next steps (internal / u21s time vs loan spells) well.
Which I know we have sucked at, but, seem to be putting the right pieces in place at last.

I thought the new stadium has a game changer but Levy is still scouring the bargain basement after Googling their names 🙄
This needs an optimistic rating. Imagine if we use the leverage the stadium gives us, effectively, over the coming years…… AND continue to sign promising young English and Foreign talent. I applaud it. All. Day. Long.

Don't know anything about this lad but if he is as good as you are all saying and given his age, height and build he looks to have a very high ceiling. Get him in, looks like no downsides here

Love these signings but they have to be playing / loaned
I'd be tempted to loan him back to Blackburn assuming they wanted that. If he's already played in the Championship he's not going to learn much playing PL2 games, and with no European games I don't see him getting much game time here next season assuming we bring in 1 or 2 senior CBs.
