Although we’re all excited to see Véliz that does make me more comfortable that we must be confident in getting another forward.

Richi, Son, Kulu, Solomon, Perisic, Scarlett is not enough

EDIT: and Gil, thanks @Snuzzy
Was about to post exactly the same mate, Ange’s words suggest pretty strongly we will be signing another forward.

If we sign Orban, Eze/Fati and Schurrs for example I think we can have a seriously exciting season.

I did wonder if we saw Veliz as our 3rd striker behind Richy/Son or if he’s more of one for the future. Ange has confirmed as much one for the future really for now this season at least.

Totally forgot about him, thanks. Surgery so out for a while though

Agreed. Daniel has to do his bit now alongside the team.

I think generally the strong is squad and everyone has to improve their performance to make up for no Kane. COYS.

Agree with all this apart from Fati. He's not what we need, poor guy has ruined his knee, tore his meniscus in half and isn't the same player since.

Tottenham also signed 19-year-old Veliz this summer from Rosario Central after he made a big impact in the Argentinean top flight but Postecoglou urged caution to anyone who thinks the Argentina U20 striker is ready for Premier League football this year.

"It will be a while for him, I think. We've just got to let him settle, he's come halfway around the world," said the Spurs head coach. "He's a young guy, it's a fairly different level. He's one we'll invest in in the long-term but I wouldn't expect him to see any minutes in the first part of the season."
Makes perfect sense. He was always one for the future, like Phillips.

I actually caught up with a short youtube of his goals and for what it's worth he reminded me of Olivier Giroud, ghosts into the box and scores well with his head. I don't think you can make a judgement on how good a player is from five you tube minutes but you can get an impression of style.

He’s a big unit , could offer something different to the other 6/7 players at the club fighting for the front three positions.

Would like to see him get some minutes with the U21's. No reason him and Phillips can't train with the 1st team, feature for the U21s and maybe get the odd 5-10 minute cameos in the cup games, depending on how we progress.

I’d put him on the bench. We’ve had no strikers on the bench first 2 games, what’s the harm of putting him on there even if he doesn’t get any minutes. Gets him some experience of game day etc but also bring him on if need be. Using Son up front is ok but he’s much better at that if we were playing on the counter. A target man is always useful.

Someone at the game yesterday who ‘has a friend who works at Spurs’ told me that Veliz has been ill since he arrived 🤷🏻‍♂️ Odd lie if not true.

He was at the stadium yesterday. One of the clips at the final whistle showed him with Regi walking down the tunnel.

Can't offer much less than Richy has in the first two games.
I don't understand how anybody can watch the first two games and think this. Ok so he didn't score but he did a huge amount of work for the team which opened up space for some of our other players to get in dangerous positions. His is a thankless job really. Could he do better? Yes of course and I hope he will once he gets more confidence and a good run of games as an out and out striker. But let's not pretend he has done nothing because that's just not true.

I've been on his back but he's been getting into good positions, just not getting much luck. I do think once he gets his first of the season he will be up and running.
He had a two minute spell of involvement and then got subbed against United. His movement has been poor

Richarlison needs game time with at least one winger who is focused on getting him the ball in dangerous areas.
